Yesterday while i was riding i was coming to a stop and as i was downshifting the bike got stuck into 2nd gear and the gear lever was stuck down. i ended up pulling to the side of the road and near the transmission there was a loud winding sound and i have no clue what all of this was so i continued to turn around and go to the dealer. No matter what i did didnt come out untill i decided to go to the rev limiter and try switching hard and it worked but what do you think might have happened?

Ok, this is probably better suited for the tech section.

And - I'm having a terrible time following what you wrote.  I get to you got stuck in 2nd gear and then it looses some cohesiveness.  Give a more detailed and cohesive narrative and we might be able to develop some theories.

Also, if you do a search, you'll find that several other people, myself included, have had bikes get the shift lever stuck in a gear. Gearhead in particular had a 696 do that, mine was a 695.
