Does my bum look big on this?

« on: October 23, 2021, 03:18:29 PM »

I’ve been running Woodcraft zero-rise clip ons above my top triple with super bike forks on my 695 for ages. I had to machine the down a tad so they clear the tank at full lock (see pics in a thread I did ages ago on anodising http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=55387.0).

I am getting old, and would like to bring the bars up a tad (I know, the shame), and note I can buy 53mm Woodcraft clip ons with varying rise.

So I’m wondering, can I use my modified clamp bit on the new ones, or do I have to do more machining (and anodising)?

Must ask Woodcraft to be 100% sure (I'm not more than 98% sure.....)

If they're not compatible - to avoid new anodizing: either mount them under the top triple (check the fork tube diameter  there) or color the surface with a Sharpie....

Ok - the parts list for clip ons with risers are different from standard (like those you have)

The diagram show these half clamps as #12-01 xx B (xx = 53 for you) for standard clip ons and as #12-05 xx B for those with risers. I don't know why and would ask Woodcraft.

Thanks! I might put new clip ons on the back burner.

Thus far my work this weekend to source new chain and sprockets (sticking with 15/42) has led me as far as getting a freight quote for a whole 695 motor, so I’m slipping into dangerous territory, and our shed, while very roomy, is no place to sleep.

If already in danger - shipping price is probably the same for a 900 or 1000 engine  Cool
