On A&R I read that Ducati is recalling 6000 newer Monsters & others on account of the rear brake system somehow ingesting air over time, making the rear brakes "not work too good". Well I don't have a newer Monster but my rear brake never worked too good. The article says it is due to the brake hose material whatever that means. In the comments section a poster elaborates as such "Ducati has identified the issue as being a banjo bolt on the rear caliper that is out of spec. Heat & use warps the bolt which allows air to enter the system."

I'm not sure what is what here all I know is my rear brake sucks, and always sucked. I'm also pretty sure I'm not the only one. Would going to a 13mm bore on the rear master help? And what of this postulation that the banjo bolt is 'out-of-spec'? Are the OE pads just not very good? Do I just need to bleed it? Because the bike is maintained per schedule the brakes have been bled every two years anyway. Is the stock caliper just shitty?
