Did you know how many round Doc McCoy (Steve McQueen) fired his shotgun (High Standard K 1200) in "The Getaway" ?
(Before running out of ammo, tossing the shotgun and switching to 1911?)

1972 THE GETAWAY, one of my all time favorite film.
So, I made this with Nerf Rival X-1000 Saturn.

It was filmed in three different days.
Lighting condition was different each time.
Also, some part I had to shoot with two cameras.
I tired to make the transition from cut to cut as natural as possible, but ...

Late afternoon, in a little cloudy day, backlit for dramatic, cinematic effect
Also shot in 120fps, for "Peckinpah film" look

Shot in a different day, also a little cloudy, mid day. (And I forgot to turn off the ceiling lights.)

King of cool

... so, McQueen fires 25 round.
He "bought" the shotgun, AND a box of 00 buck.
(Most commercially available shot shells are sold as 25 round per box.
So, he had one pack (25 round) to start with.

I love Peckinpah's film.

Such a great film. And Ali McGraw, even falling out the back of a garbage truck, smoking hot!
