I found a tear in the intake boot, which is the part that connects the intake manifold to the throttle body. An OEM part is a lot of dough but I found a few used ones on ebay from various Ducatis. I tried to search the part number and nothing matches up, although we all know that ducati has a tendency to just change part numbers for other reasons when the parts is the same. I want to know if the book size between a hypermotard (which uses the same TB) can fit  a ducati S2R1000. Ideally id like to find one that fits from a hyper that is most recently constructed to avoid rotted rubber. But if a parts indoors in a temperature control environment, its probably going to be better than the OEM 2006 one that has lived outside its entire life!

Below is the part that im talking about.

I've mixed and matched enough parts doing the LSR thing with Ducatis that I'd spend the $21 to find out if the linked parts worked. Signs point to yes if they use the same throttle body setup.

Of course, I'm spending a little of your money... Cheesy

FYI It does NOT fit.

The flanges are different sized and therefore the location of the 2 studs are different. for each bike which makes no sense to me unless the guy sent one from an 800 or something!

So IME, the boots will fit the TBs, just not the airbox.

I'm pretty sure that a custom airbox will fit nearly any TB setup given a set of appropriate boots.

I have the opposite issue. Im running TPO Beast R V stacks and they fit perfectly into the body. I only spent 2 minutes trying to fit them when i was cleaning out my air filter. My bike is in for major service right now so im going to try to see if i can slot the bolt holes and get it to fit (assuming the ports openings match up).

IME, small block and big block manifolds will fit the bolts and the ports line up.

But

The TB's will not fit properly if you've got the wrong ones.
The small block ones sit the TB higher and further away from the flange, because the cylinder is shorter.

Im not sure what the guy sent me since there is no part number on the boot itself. He claims it came from an 1100 series bike. Do you know if the 1100 and 1000DS motor share the same head height? I have both motors so i can measure it myself when Im back at the garage. Im pretty sure they are different since my TB doesn't line up well with my forward cylinder. Its off by a very small amount that causes that TB to not have a perfect seat.
