Despite Corona still being here, Europe more or less decided to open up June/July. Low numbers all over, but that can change quickly so distance, hygiene, masks are required.

Previous years

Norway - Sweden (red zone, so just transit) - Germany - Netherlands - Germany - Switzerland - Italy - Austria - Germany - Norway. Just over 4,000 km. Two ferries and one train saved 3,000 km

Less traffic, but busy during weekends. Less bikes. Relaxed attitude. People behave differently.

No rain (well, maybe light rain 2 x 5 minutes)(doesn't really count) for three weeks is fantastic. Clean air. Mostly 20 - 30 degrees C during day time.

Red zone Sweden means NO traffic from Norway

Swedes not allowed into Germany, so only freight/vital travels/transit (like me). 80 passengers on a 1,200 capacity ship. No party this time.

This is art. Also a great restaurant. Old port. Leijhof in NL

Further south, Swizz lake Zuger see. First sign of good mountains

Outside 'my' 3 Koenige & Post hotel in Andermatt. Ride with the old post wagon

Gotthard pass, old postal road, cobble stone hair pins. New road in the background. Car tunnel and train tunnel WAAYYY under us

Can't remember.... maybe Nufenen

Cool car in the hotel garage in Glorenza. Shade and security for the bikes

South side of Stelvio, towards Bormio. Followed by Gavia, Tonale, Madonna de Campiglio and more

Six pictures from Tenno and Riva del Garda. I love the 'bike lane' Italian style.... not much wider than a foot

Above 'my' village Castel del Rio, on the border between regions Tuscany and Emilia Romagna.

"The marketing department say we have a huge image problem"

See, but not touch

So a simple, but very tasteful Italian lunch under the trees

The hills are racing ground, really. Also popular hang outs. South of Bologna, north of Firenze.... Futa, Raticosa and Giogo passes

Imola (almost a picture...)

Cortina in the Dolomites

Further north, towards Austria - the Jaufen and Timmelsjoch passes

Chills/goose bumps. I ski enough and fast enough to know what the pro's are up to on the top of this mountain, above Kitzbühel. Google Hahnekamm, Streif, downhill. It's make the beast with two backsing serious.

Still Austria. Zell am See

Our second 'hot' day (of 19 total). 30 is enough for me. On the way to Wien for the night train through Germany

 Cool Cool Cool Dolph

I miss Italy. I think it will be awhile before they let me go back there.
