First full day of practicing and each class qualified for the race tomorrow. The new Porsche is fast, but the C8R Vette is looking pretty good.

6 hours into the race. Helluva pace so far. The 2 Porsche’s and the 2 Vettes are hanging together, but the BMW is leading the GTLM class at this point. Gonna be a long night. Damnit! #3 Vette just got run off the track by a GTD car. Appears to be minimal damage.  |

Watched an interview with Ben Keating. He’s not only racing in the 24, but in two separate classes, LMP2 and GTD. So he can’t race (or any driver) more than 4hrs in a 6hr period. When he gets out of one or the other cars, he starts his watch timer for 2hrs. Oh, and this is his 5th time doing this. He’s 48.
“Keating feels he can finish up his minimum drive time (four and a half hours in each car for nine hours total) in 18 hours.”

13hrs to go. Temperature has been steadily dropping. Lap times will be their fastest for the next several hours. This feels like a sprint race still, everyone is getting after it. |

Halfway home. I’ve been running a few of the onboard camera footage from a few of the teams. IMSA/Tv is a free site. They’re not showing the race, but at the bottom of the page you can click on one of the cars. No announcers, just rolling.

Fastest pace ever in the 24 at this point. More laps run by the leaders at this point in a 24. Barbosa and Kobayashi in two of the Cadillac DPi cars are going at it like it’s the last hour.  |

Final two hours. #10 Cadillac is walking away with the overall in the DPi car. The BMW has held the lead in GTLM over the 2 new Porches and the Vettes. #3 Corvette is in 3rd right now. #912 Porsche just passed the BMW. This is gonna get good. |

🏁🏁🏁 Another one in the books.  I need a nap. DPi #10 Cadillac LMP2 #81 GTLM #24 BMW GTD #48 Lamborghini The #3 Corvette finished 4th in class. Pretty impressive run with the brand new C8R. |
