It is now ancient history but Giancarlo Fallapa was one of the best riders in World Superbike in the early years of that championship. He rode a Yamaha powered Bimota and also the Ducati 851 and 916 against Doug Polen, Raymond Roche, Scott Russel, Carl Fogarty and Fred Merkel. He was notorious for his standup wheelies. One T shirt had a picture of Fallapa doing a stand up wheelie and the caption read: Fallapa Whoppa.
