I never met Gerry, but we spoke on the phone, and via pm. I've never encountered a man with a greater command of language before, or since. He could tell you to go make the beast with two backs yourself and you'd think he was calling you the best thing since sliced bread.

There's a sticky thread in NMC with some of his gems. Very much worth a look.

I never met him in person either, but he and I used to email at length.

I was pretty sad when my computer at the time shit the bed after he left us and all our correspondence was lost.  Cry There was some great stuff there, in addition to his stories in the sticky.

I met him in person, drank with him at the Ear Inn.  Drank moonshine he brought back from Georgia too.  Gerri's writing reflected the real person.   RIP Gerry Cry
