After five months on a Honda CBR 250R, I decided to up grade and bought a new Monster 1200S. Driving it has been a pleasure, but snaking it back between two cars to its parking space has been a challenge. Yesterday with the week old bike I am riding it into position on the sidewalk and I squeeze the front brake, a total rookie mistake. I drop like a sack of potatoes. The wheels were on the sidewalk, but the bike landed in the grass so almost no damage.

However, I am now trapped under the bike and it takes me 2 or 3 minutes to get loose. I then notice that the bike is leaking fuel, and the fuel is creating a puddle a couple of inches away from the hot exhaust header. Picturing a Monster Apocalypse I start trying to get the bike up, but I can't get enough traction on the grass to push it up. I am down on my knees desperate when I hear a voice from above 'Have you heard of Mike Ablon?' (a Dallas Mayoral candidate).....'no, but if you help me pick up this bike I'll vote for him'. We were able to get the bike up and get it away from the gas. I was lucky to get away with only a cracked mirror.

Lessons learned: don't touch your from brake in slow maneuvers, and it may be OK to snake a 350lb. Honda between parked cars, but not a 470lb. Monster. I now have a group coming over to build a parking pad and gate off the back alley.

Why... to remind yourself when you dropped yours? Kiss
