Ducati sure is working on lots of technical solutions to going faster in the world of MotoGP. Gigi Dall-Igna Ducati Corse chief has been the force behind fitting winglets, aerodynamics, etc. Ducati was the first with winglets and the leader in their use. This article in Moto Matters talk about some new ideas Dall-Igna is trying out. One of the new ideas is not new but it is in MotoGP. It involves the use of a Holeshot device. Holeshot devices are used in Motocross to hold the front wheel down at the start of the race to prevent wheelies. It just pulls the front suspension down until you are underway.  There is a short little video in this article showing Andrea Dovioso cranking down the holeshot device then doing a practice start with no wheelies

There is also a lot of MotoGP discussion following the first day of practice at Qatar MotoGP
