I know kevlar and of course steel is often used, but would there be an issue with nylon?  Could it melt if it got too close to the headers, or is the nylon used on oil lines more heat resistant than the standard stuff?

It would probably melt if they touch, but I have been running black nylon coated lines for ten years.,  and no issues.

That's great to hear!  Thanks!  As an added level of protection, I was thinking of putting some heat-shrink rubber tube around any areas where the line (really only one line would be at risk) might get close to the header.

Actually for added insurance wrap the exhaust and or get an insulated sleeve to run the lines in. O
