My cooler wasn`t fully covered, an inch or so so exposed.
Fully covered gave +6-8 higher temp.
So, two days riding, +19C, slightly humid, fully warmed engine runs at 103-108 at 90 km/h highway,
seldom below 95 various riding.
Like most, I think it`s ok w covered cooler.
Think  "too much I don`t know" to fiddle w oil thermostats. Got a feeling that is how most
thought about this when considering this mod.
I`m sooo pleased w 1100 engine so no adventures w it....

Greenmonster has a pretty effective solution, ~100 degC oil temp is spot on.

Wouldn't some louvers controlled by <gizmo> be relatively easy.
One of those 'thermostatic' controller bellows things from a VW?
