Sorry but the 750 is not impressive. Trade and upscale

I like the grunt of the big bore bikes and wish I could bore my 900 to 1200! That being said I used to say the same thing, which is correct when it comes to outright torque and power. However, against my advice I helped a guy out with a hi comp, light flywheel, mildly ported , remodelled airbox, FCR39 equipped M750 project. When riding the bike during the tuning process I was really impressed with the balance and sweetness of the motor. I think the 750 is a better balanced motor with greater rideability. This bike is a real joy to ride and very quick on mountain roads. When I got my own relatively stock 750 it reminded me how sweet the bike is. I have changed my opinion and understand why JD Hord likes them so much.
That rideability will suit my buddy and his specific needs quite well.
