Hi all  Shots
need some advice   Grin Grin
I am look for a new bike and would like to have a V2 with low maintenances cost, and therefore I think that a 2 valve air cooled monster would be a good choice. The two model I have looked ad so far is a old 900 from 97 or a s2r 1000. Besides 100 ccm and fuel injectors and som say that the DS engine is the best air cooled engine Ducati has made, what else should I be aware  of ?
Would I be best off spending extra on a s2r or newer monster ?
Seating position?
Power ?
Slow speed, driving in city traffic ?
Breaking ?

I have a Aprilia RSV now, and love power and sound but It is only really happy over 100 km/t and don’t to be afraid for losing my drives license every time I ride it.    Dolph  Police
I I know I will go down in power

Got to keep in mind both bikes have some age on them, so maintenance and condition are real important.  Obviously the S2R is notably more powerful and eliminates the carb issues (constantly worn needle jets and occasional icing.  It is also newer, therefore parts availability is better.  Somewhat better brakes and, IMO slightly more stable at highway speed.  On the other hand, 97 Carbie?  Classic Monster!

The S2R will be about half the age, so that's a big thing.

Except.

If the 900 has been well maintained and kept inside as much as possible, it can be mint!
And if the S2R has spent it's life being flogged and stored outside, it could be pretty haggard.
