Hey y-all, I'm back on a monster again after a... well, several year break. Recently managed to have a pretty solid crash that put me in the ER and totaled my KTM Super Duke GT. I'm now going to be (once I'm road worthy) out and about on a 2011 M796. Deciding if I hang on to it and get another bike, trade it on something like an M1100S or Streetfighter S (I want a dry clutch) or, trade it on an Africa Twin AS.

Anyway, I've been lurking here for a while but, was originally on ducatimonster.org way back before the vertical scope fiasco and have been here since day 1. If I decide to hang on to the bike, I may do a couple more mods but, this is fun since my first bike was an S2R 800. Familiar, fun machine.

Hi!

I was going to post a picture but, I can't remember how we do that here. I have to upload it somewhere I guess? Only a couple of mods, mirrors, levers and a fender eliminator. I may need suspension if I decide to keep it. Other mods if I decide to hang on to it: Motodemic adaptive headlight (not a fan of the look as much as I am of the functionality), exhaust.

Howdy!

I've got a '13 M796 ABS, it's a fun enough bike, but I've pretty much decided it's not going to be a worth sport tourer for me, anyway.  It sure is a hoot around town, however!

I agree with you on the headlight, I've recently contemplated replacing the stocker for something better.  I've also got an Ohlins DU-737 rear shock setting on the bench to be put on.

I haven't jumped yet but I'm about ready to, health wise.

I'm waiting for Honda to put cruise control on the damn thing and then maybe.

In the mean time, I've bought a 2014 Ducati Multistrada S Granturismo. I don't own a car so, when my girlfriend is using the car we share, I can't run go anywhere to do much other than cruise around on the M796.
