New'ish harness at 154,000 km / 10 years.

Only a handful of incidents, but all of them during the last few years so it's time to fix this. It's NEVER a good time to have an electric break down. There were so many visible dry, brittle, corroded wires just off the connectors - which BTW mostly were fine.

Factory new is ~ $ 1,000. Not a single used harness for my bike for sale, but cross referencing the part number showed the 695 with the same harness. At least 10 of those online for around 100 each. Known and professional ebay vendor had one from a bike with 4,000 miles. Got an S2R 1000 rear sub harness as well.

Five five hour shifts at a friends house. Two hours work, two hours chatting and one hour tea time - no rush  coffee

"Known and professional ebay vendor" ship a 696 harness.... WTF  (turns out it's just the label)

Box of confusion

Remove stuff

Label both sides of every connection and describe where it belongs and maybe the routing

Slide old harness out

All this belongs here?

My 16 square mm license plate light. Works ok after three-four years. Connectors are another story...

Turn the key soon

That feeling when everything works (except actually starting. Waiting for riding conditions

Good job, very brave!

The front of my harness (headlight area) is all hacked to bits because of the previous owner. Some day I will take the time to clean it all up with better plugs and try to hide the wiring better.
