After 40 years of riding I've bought my first Ducati -- a 2010 Monster 1100.  Figured I needed a sporting "standard" (my other bikes are a 2012 BMW R1200RT and a 1983 BMW R80 that started life as an RT but ended up without the fairing and a set of clipons.  Love the R80 but 50hp on a good day not cutting it anymore and the RT has its place when I want to spend some hours in the saddle (though its surprisingly good in anything but the tightest twisties).  Immensely enjoying the lightness of the Monster.  The fun of just opening it up anywhere and getting that instant acceleration and the noise from the Akropovic pipes (not irresponsibly loud) reminds me of the importance of the emotional aspect of riding a motorcycle.  Requires more work to ride than the others but that's part of the fun of it.

Wish I could figure out how to post a pic...

Pictures must be uploaded to a picture hosting site (I use Flickr) and the linked to here. Search on our site for Flickr to get an idea OR just do it/try and then ask again if you get lost. Most of us did.  Wink

Thanks for the advice stopintime.  Finally figured the pic out!  FAQ lays it out perfectly.  Just have to read all of the instructions!

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.
