I haven't seen too many post '98 SSs in town, David, but Airtech makes a one piece that replaces both the mid and lower.

http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/ducati/900SS1999-04.htm

Sharkskinz makes nice stuff for your bike, too, but you'd have to buy both their upper and lower, I think, since you're missing a mid.  The whole thing is only $600, though.

http://www.sharkskinz.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=71&cat=750SS%2F800%2F900SS%2F1000+%2899%2D08%29

Final advice would be to look at online classifieds.  Start with ebay and then try the ducati.net classifieds and the ducatitrader classifieds as a start.  You might also try a universal craigslist search engine.  It's more hit-or-miss, but when you find something it's usually priced right!

Good luck, and holler if you need someone to turn a wrench for ya!  (See the Desert Desmo thread)

Well after finally almost giving up I scored a set of 800ss fairings and the price was right Some people out there think that some of this plastic is gold. I was going to hawk mine off on fleabay and get the sharkskinz but I found the 800ss ones. NOw if some one can help me with posting pics on this sight I will throw some out. I have a garage full of nothing running. I am getting my 76 r90/6 cafe up and going first. Then my 82 fxwg and then the 900ss. I have also been working on my 80 flh. It will have a 106" shovelhead with a baker 6 speed. There is so much harley tech and aftermarket it is easy. But trying to find aftermarket for old the old 900ss is not easy. Cloner thanks for the help. I have a lift and am usually home on Sunday and Mondays ad some tools. I live in Peralta and reside in SF.
Thanks for the help guys and when it is time for the valves I will come begging.

I'm inclined to sell my 1098S for $11,000 since Pam allowed me to spend some cash for my birthday on a 1199.

I'm close to convincing my friend Frank to ship his 916 from Ithaca to Albuquerque. He'd really like to sell the bike (he has several others). I'm also trying to persuade him to come out himself in April to hang out, play some music & do some riding. IN any event, he emailed me the following:

Quote
Here's some info on the bike (fyi):

The bike is a 1998 Monoposto with ~4,000 miles (from memory).  I bought the bike from a dentist in New Jersey (at ~ 1,200 miles).  He owned both a 916 and 996 that he used for track days (Pocono?).  He stopped riding the 916 when he got the 996.  After a good friend died in a track wreck, the dentist decided to sell the Ducs.  It has an interesting past: it was born as part of an insurance fraud/theft scheme, so it has a strange VIN number issued by Rhode Island (RI 1830).  Though a '98, I preferred the Cagiva graphics so I changed the bodywork accordingly.

Previous owner upgrades (from memory):
Regina gold chain (520)
Quick-change rear sprocket.
Fren-tubo kevlar brake lines
Stock cored exhaust cans

My upgrades (from memory)
FIM chip (UM181?).
Nichols lightweight balanced flywheel (greatly improved handling and reving)
Nichols crankcase breather
I changed the gearing a bit, but I'll need to count the teeth.  Previous owner geared it lower, so maybe I just restored it to stock?
Gold five-spoke Marchesini wheels with 5.5" rear wheel (lighter, and accommodates a 180 rear tire)
Red and white seat cowling with "Campione Del Mondo" graphic
Carbon front fender
Carbon rear hugger
After-market windscreen (can't remember brand, but a nice one)
Karbacher seat

Includes full shop and Haynes manuals and rear stand.  I'll include the front stand if it does not fit my other bikes.

There are other tidbits that I can't recall right now, but these are the significant ones.

The bike was serviced <1,000 miles ago when the chip and Nichols upgrades were installed.  Cam belts were replaced to be safe.  Valves didn't need adjustment.

No photos; hope to get them this week.

I'l post the photos as soon as I get them.

I think he was looking for a little over $5000 last year. I'm sure he'll negotiate because he'd really like to sell it.

I have the bags, racks and back rack from a 76 r90/6 BMW for sale.  I am asking 250 for the lot and that includes the front and rear fenders. I turned the bike into a cafe and these are no longer needed. I also have the air box, front and rear pegs, brake and shifter pedals and some other misc stuff for sale

They should fit a /7. The bags do have some small cracks in the top but that never seemed to bother me during any of the traveling I did with them. I know they fit my friends /7. The rack will bolt up to either of our bikes. I could bring them down to Alb next week if you would like to see them or I could take some pics later tonight and e-mail or text them to you.

No need to bring anything down.  I haven't bought the /7 yet, I'm just considering it.  One of the things I had against the bike is it has no storage....but it's cheap!

Pics would be great.
