hello people I want opinions on the big hole in the 1100 evo swingarm that lets water in.
after washing or rain or when adjusting the chain [hey that rhymes] water drips out the drain hole in the swingarm under the wheel bearings and its a lot sometimes.
today I found where it gets in, there is a 30mm x 10mm opening  facing toward the front next to the tunnel where the chain runs on the top which is pretty much directly above the wheel bearings.
there are a couple of other openings  at the front of the swingarm that  have rubber plugs to seal them.
The only thing I can think of is it lets cooling air in for the wheel bearings that would exit out the drain hole that is about 10mm diameter.
I dont really like the idea of showering wheel bearings with water and want to seal this entry.

I noticed this 2 weekends ago as well after washing my bike. I actually didnt know the water was in there. By sheer luck I just happend to be replacing the chain as well.  Apparently when you turn the chain adjuster to loosen the chain, the water comes gushing out. I was surprised by the quantity. It was probably easily a quart or more. Needless to say it didnt drip after that but I agree a creative fix to prevent during a rainstorm would be something I would be interested in as well.

Funny there's no drain/weep hole....
