The Barber Vintage Festival is to be held October 9, 10, and 11 2015.  That's a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  My plan is to leave Albuquerque on Saturday October 3rd and stay that evening somewhere between Fort Smith and Little Rock, AR.  Then on the 4th to drive to the Scottish Woods in Murphy, NC for a stay until Thursday.  Lots of good riding to be had around Murphy in every direction, and lots of North Carolina hospitality at night.  From Murphy we'll drive to Birmingham on Thursday afternoon and stay there for the Festival, then drive back Monday and Tuesday the 12th and 13th.

I'll need to get a good head count so we can make reservations both at the Scottish Woods and at the hotel in Birmingham.  We'll figure out what deposits are required, etc, after we figure out how many are going.  I plan to laod a bike on my truck, but we could rent a trailer for a couple of bikes (or more) if that's preferable.  We'll figure that out as we go.  Last time the gasoline was the biggest single expense and everyone is expected to split the fuel bill equally!

Any takers?

You don't have to convince a Carolina Boy of the virtues of NC in October.  I'm not much for Carolina queue, but the riding is perfecto!   Dolph

It wont help with your cross country trip Scott, but I intend to join a part of this trip at least. Not sure I'll have a week long vacation to spare, but, Barber and some NC riding would be spectacular! waytogo

I look forward to a trip across the Skyway, JJ.  You can look up the Scottish Woods if you want to know more about the place we're planning to stay in NC.  To me, that's the more "important" part of the trip.  Barber is great, but riding in NC is the bomb diggity shizzle!!!

I think the wife and I will likely take you up on a group reservation deal for the festival itself, we're in p-cola so the drive wont be bad, at the very least we will 2 up the 696.

So far it sounds like we have interest from Zaster, Axel, JJ, Metcalfe (maybe) and Jim DeBlois for a stay in North Carolina.  Anyone else interested?  I'm working on details and trying to decide whether to open the invitation to anyone else.
