So I have a friend that asked me to help him find a 620 a couple years back and ended up finding him a pretty nice 2005 dark.  It had a fueling issue, no red key, and a salvaged title due to a low speed drop.  I negotiated the guy down to $1700 and fixed the fuel pump for him.  Since then the kid has wrecked it two more times (low side slides thank goodness) which has left pretty much everything damaged with the exception of the motor and frame.  Its been sitting in his side yard for the last 6 months and I couldn't take it anymore.  I offered him $500 and brought it home.  I intended to fix and flip but my wife called dibs so now I plan to get it back in tip top shape for her.

At a distance it doesn't look half bad but looking a little closer...

Tank expanded and damaged

Bars and throttle gound down

Exhaust damaged on both sides

Seat damage

Rear fender and signals

Front axle

Fork tube and caps (Stripped by owner)

Front rim (hopefully just rashed and not bent)

Levers and coffin

...and I don't think the chain was ever adjusted or lubed

This a few hours after unloading.  Thankfully the frame, triples, swing arm, and engine look fine.  The engine fired right up.

Now, the good news is, I already had or have coming the following in perfect shape:

*  Tank
*  Front fender
*  Seat
*  Exhaust cans
*  Bars
*  Mirrors
*  Levers

Now I am just looking for some of the other bits and pieces.  If you have stock parts that have been removed and are just cluttering up your shop, please peek over at the parts wanted section, maybe you have something I need.  I hope to have everything I am looking for posted up by tonight.   I will update as I make progress but I hope to see the wife on it by June/July!

$500 seems like a great deal! None of that damage seems too bad to me. Have fun...I've been contemplating doing the same thing if I can find the right 620.

Buck Naked:  Sweet!  Any help on parts would be appreciated!  Yes, gonna chop the tail and go integrated light.  Got me the fender hangars and probably forks (waiting on shipping quote from Panama) although the Showas may be the ticket!

Looking forward to hear the updates as well. My 620m at 52k is kind of slowly dying in the sense the engine isn't purring like the early days. Good to see your resurrection story....

Mine is just over 5K (previous owner never rode it)

Glad to know she's got a long life ahead of her.

Just a word, I don't know what your wife prefers, if torque of the line or speed down the line or basically around town riding . . .

Some would prefer to add to the rear sprocket while most go to 14 on the front sprocket . . . I am riding a 14/48, top speed is gone, but, around town, great . . . 15/48 was OK but, I was working 2nd-3rd way to much for nothing around the city, now, is just 3rd . . . check this out, http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/jtchain/hbund/jtchain.html
