i know we did not do a monster challenge last year (or at least i don't remember, so sorry if there was one) ... so, i propose that the DMF hold a monster challenge ... one of the judges can be brian catterson (editor in chief at motorcyclist).

what say ye?  can someone here on the DMF step forward (virtually) and take on the challenge of organizing the monster challenge?

we typically hold this event in the front parking area, just in front of the stores ... so we can block this area off for monsters only.

volunteers?

What will be asked of this/these volunteers?

if your asking about volunteers for organizing/running the monster challenge, they will be something along the lines of:

1. promote the monster challenge to all monster owners in MOB and the socal forum (heck, perhaps the general monster forum, to reach more owners)

2. manage the parking in the morning @ LDD2008, so that the monster area in front of the event (the stores parking lot spaces) is used by monsters only)

3, pick the event judges (figure you have brian catterson as a guest judge)

4. formalize the judging scoring method you want to use for the event.

5. decide what categories of prizes you wan for the event.

6. get the prizes for the event (trophies, plaques, certificates, etc...)

7. decide what time the event will be judged, and what time the prizes will be awarded on the day of the event.

Is there going to be a noise contest? I need to enter DESMO Q into *some* sort of sound-off. It goes to eleven.

I'm on the fence about attending this years' LDD but will try to make it up.

Any objections if I offer my services as a judge for the Monster Challenge?!?  Evil

Is this event kid friendly?  Am thinking about bringing my 11 y.o. daughter, but don't know the crowd.  Also not sure if I want to ride 2 up across the San Mateo bridge.  Maybe I'll just drive the car, but was looking forward to riding.  How's the car parking?  There is food to purchase, isn't there?

yes ... kid friendly.  think atmosphere of ducati island at laguna.

parking for cars is across the street from the event, along 84.

there will be food for purchase at the event ... there is a deli and the cafe.

a presto,
