   2016

Just off the ferry back in Oslo- fantastic week and a half  Cool

Unusually cold for July with inches of fresh snow on Stelvio the night before, so we didn't go there. One full day of rain which is also a first. I've posted pictures of many of the places we revisited - see the first post above.

Most of the passes we went over:
Süsten, Grimsel, Furka, Oberalp, Parpaner, Albula, Ofen, d'Eira, Foscagno, Torre, Tonale, Folgarida, Pellegrino, Giau, Falzarego, Valparola, Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Campolongo, Tre Croci, Drei Zinnen og Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse

Our route:
Oslo - Germany by ferry, then Hamburg - Lörrach by train (AutoZug's last year)(need to figure out an alternative to 1,400 miles of Autobahn)
Andermatt - Chur - Glorenza - Livigno - Bormio - Madonna de Campiglio - Riva del Garda - Cavalese - Cortina - Lienz - Zell am See - München

Gavia

Start of the Cavalese Monster Hill, last stage of the Tour de Ski

Valparola, end of Giro d'Italia Monster stage

Grossglockner in Austria (behind the now non existing glacier)

Tre Cime (or Drei Zinnen as the locals prefer German names because they think of themselves as Tirolians rather than Italians)

Hi Lars glad that you're back home safe and sound, the new place just down the lane from Chiara's is awesome, 7 bedrooms mostly Ducati owners and yes you were missed.
I think that it would be my last WDW as its beginning to be a long slog for this olde fart, perhaps see you when you visit the Isle of Man... waytogo

   2018

Again, this year, riding through Germany south. "Probably copper grease from a recent tire change"  It wasn't and it threatened to ruin my trip completely, but I managed to rescue most of it. Much more km than planned, many in rain and most on high speed autobahn = chain close to snapping. WOW.

We're not Touring until this must-stop first photo op (Yes, Süsten)

The welcoming "suit beer" and perfect Rösti

Swiss view, Swiss public neatness and Fluela pass (Top Gear's favorite until they found Stelvio later same show and much later the Romanian pass Transfaragasan (sp?)

Stelvio  Cool

... the real and original hot dog stand

Vespa meet somewhere, some of the made it up here...

... never went there. Next year!

Back in Italy

Above Lake Garda

Another milestone

The local GP hero in his Hochey Ristorante. Great place. Fires a 250 GP every night at 10 (He also has an older Simoncelli bike on display)

I stole flowers from the Police station (flower shops were closed Sundays) and placed them by Nicky's place of death and memorial garden  http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=75365.msg1407499#msg1407499

First actual factory visit

Bridge from 1100/1200 a.c. leading into my dear Castel del Rio

Pedestrian life in Cortina while waiting for wheel bearings

We're back in business

Remember the chain almost disaster?

Have a beer and everything looks better  waytogo

Next time  Dolph

Love the pics.

We were in northern Italy in 2015... unfortunately, I was driving a Fiat Punta, not a Ducati.  It is my dream to tour it again... on a Ducati, this time.
