I was reading the newest issue on Motorcyclist & read that Ducati has applied for a trademark on the name Scrambler possibly for a new entry level model in the 2014 model year.  I have not found much info on it yet, though some of the artists renderings of what the bike may look like have me very interested.

Has anyone heard anything on this bike?  I know it will likely be a twin but the idea of a water cooler testa derived single would be the bike I have been wanting.

wholly old article Batman....08/26/2011 ?!?!?!....

while I'd love to see a revival Sport Classic Scrambler...I somehow doubt that we'll see it ( at least not in 2014 anyway)...and my reasoning is this...by this point...we'd be seeing test mule pics out and about already for a bike that would be revealed at EICMA this fall....I also doubt that we'd see a screaming single 4 valve motor...as if they were to do it, it would have come about in a small displacement market like in India or Thailand already....

The second bike looks awesome.  However, I'd like to see Ducati update their existing models and resolve continuing issues (eg., expanding fuel tank) rather than throwing resources at a new product line.

If believe it when I see it. You're talking about such a small market it just wouldn't make financial sense.

I just flipped through my Motorcyclist mag that showed up a couple of days ago. They ran the picture of the Scrambler but in Red instead of yellow. Then they went on in the body of the article to state that while there is historical precedence for Ducati to make a single (and have it water cooled) like in the Scrambler rendition, that Ducati would be more likely to make the bike using the current air cooled 696 engine rather than make a whole "new" engine.

So if their belief is that Ducati will make it a V-2 why run the picture of the single!!?

For the record I love the liquid cooled single bike idea.

Only if it's a Capirex...

Does anyone even remember who said that over on the DML?  I remember the conversation from ages ago, but cannot for the life of me figure out who it was...
