Hard start

Hi guys,

I have some questions.

My bike (2012 monster 795) usually starts really easy. Only need one push on the start button, starter runs, engine starts right away. But these past two days, the bike needs more than one crank before the engine starts and runs. It goes like this: I turn the ignition key, wait until the computer reset, and then I push the start button. Starter runs, the engine starts and runs for a second or so then it dies, like it has no gas. I turn the ign key off, then turn it on again, and push the start button. Yesterday, after the second try the engine starts right away. But today, second try doesn't work and it only starts after I try it several times. Oh before I forget, today I kick the kickstand up after I turn the ign key on for the third time.

BTW, both of the above happens when I'm leaving for home, in the evening. In the morning, yesterday and today, it starts just fine.

Any idea on what might cause it? Is it because I didn't push the start button hard enough? What is the battery voltage when the ignition key turn on without starting the engine? Mine reads 12.5 v and earlier today it was 12.3v.

thanks in advance.
