2005 Monster 620, 6K miles.

So, my fuel pump stopped working.  After confirming power was running to the connector under the tank, I took out the fuel flange and put power to the pump, and the pump works fine.  Turns out the red wire which (I believe) connects the plug outside of the fuel tank to the plug that goes into the pump is dead.  I confirmed this with a multimeter; if I run signal down the outside-the-tank connector, it doesn't make it to the inside-the-tank connector.  If I do the same test with the wire next to it, the signal travels just fine.  I can't just replace the wire because it runs through the sealed conduit in the flange.  Any F'in ideas?  I'd really hate to spend over $800 on a new flange because of a dead wire.

Picture if needed:

The red arrow points to the dead wire.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Don't replace the whole thing for $800 or whatever ridiculous number Ducati sells the assembly for. I had the same issue with my 2005 M620 last year.

I ended up finding a used fuel pump assembly and put that in the bike. Others have had success digging the epoxy out and resoldering the wire from outside the tank to the wire inside the tank. That is where the problem lies. Of course, you have to pour in and properly set new epoxy after this.

Thanks for your help.

Do you know of any tutorials or any methods people used to remove the re-apply the epoxy?  Also, where did you find your used assembly?

Sorry for the delay in my response but I found the flange assembly used here on the "parts for sale" section. I remember seeing some on eBay as well. As for repairing the wire, if that is your problem, these threads might help. Good luck!
