So I've got a 2006 S2R 800 with no O2 sensors.  This seems to be the setup from the factory (the service manual and parts fiches show a cap, and no O2 sensors).

The part number is 78020011A (this is a revised part number).  Could anyone verify that the dimensions are M16 or M18 x 1.25?  I want to buy a bolt from a hardware store but cannot seem to find the dimensions anywhere.

As a side note, I have heard that it may have a "very strange" thread pitch of .9 mm (1 being a normal pitch I guess) Can anyone verify/deny this?

Thanks!!!

On my 2007 s4r a spark plug did fitt just fine.

interesting...a spark plug? from what?

Anyway, after some measuring done by Ducati Indy, I have confirmed that the bolt is in fact M10X.9.  As a side note, if anybody loses theirs and needs a temporary fix, 1/8-28 standard piping thread also fits...kinda.  It's the right size and the threads are close.  I got a couple brass plugs and just cross threaded them for the time being; I'm picking up the correct bolts on Saturday.

Need to be careful on which fitting you're talking about.

There's the O2 sensor ports, that Keld is talking about.

There's exhaust sample ports, which is what uberranger is talking about.

The exhaust sample ports appear to be M10x0.9, but there isn't a standard metric pipe plug in that size.
There *is* a 1/8 BSP Pipe plug:
I'm 99% sure that's what it is.

the small plug is 1/8 bsp.  it's not m10.  fitting something m10 will render it no longer 1/8 bsp.

the large lambda sensor style thread is m18 x 1.5.

That would explain why I'm finding differing information (including
M10, M18, and 1/8 BSP/BPT).

The specific holes about which I am talking are the smaller,
M10X.9 ones.  They are located on the forward part of the 'udder' near
where the 'udder' joins the horizontal header, and directly on the header
(visibile from that side) of the vertical cylinder.

The hole on the horizontal cylinder can be seen on the aforementioned
pipe in this picture, just in front (to the right) of the 'udder':

So are these two holes for the O2 (lambda) sensors or are they the
'exhaust sampling ports'?

Speeddog

Those are the sampling ports, so yes, 1/8 BSP.

The plugs are available from:

Part# 908A4-1/8 BSP

A bit less than $5 each, they've got the copper crush washers too.

Or you can get 'em from the dealer, AFAIK they're Part# 78020011A, about $11 each.
