Greeting DMF members. It was a slightly spiritual moment when I found you guys and gals - I had been looking for a Monster (but also lightly salivating over used KTM SuperDuke 990's) for a couple of months and my relatively not-so-deep internet searches for Monster Life on another planet was just not producing what I expected. My former stomping ground BCM is closed, Kyle has moved onto Seacoast. The Ducati Index (was that it's name?) is no longer. And then I found your Insane Clown Posse late one night while covering a 6 pm to 6 am night shift at my salt mine. Wow. I've been drinking deeply from thread after thread in all of the subforums.
I have lucked into a showroom new, fully stock 2001 900Sie Monster (red) with 2500 miles on it that was owned by an ex-corporate jet pilot. All it really needs is a new battery - thanks to your threads a new Shorai willl soon be in the mail to me from Motowheels - THAT is some amazing tech, boys and girls. But before that, and before I found DMF, I ordered some initial bits and pieces for the Redhead - an opened up clutch cover and the Comp Works tail chop kit. I too enjoyed the Lost in Translation experience of that kit's instructions all on my own. What else for now? Well, I think a 14T countershaft sprocket might be in order - I had forgotten these things come geared for Daytona...
In a former life (say '95 to '02) I roadraced in eastern Canada (Shannonville primarily) with occasional visits to the Loudon series. My last racing sled was a BCM-built 800 based on a 92 750SS that was a lot of fun. So I learned to speak some Duck during that time:
These days I have slowed it down a bit and race vintage dirt bikes. Trees are kinda firm but the ground is definitely softer.
Looking forward to the benefits of DMF membership!
