Still have not performed a tail chop yet. Just can't bring myself to cut the frame. Plus, now that I have high mount termi's I think the termis look a little odd sticking out past the tail. So I have the inspections sticker on the plate. and the registration sticker right above it.

Huh? how do you place the inspection sticker "on the plate"? isn't it too big to be on the plate?  I do have the registration sticker on the plate but the inspection sticker on a separte metal plate (not license plate) below the license plate.

Sorry I meant Registration on the plate and inspection right below it on a separate plate that is behind the license plate also.

i'm sure you've found an answer to this by now, but you need a plate like this:

these are available from af1-racing in downtown austin for ~$6.

I took a piece of hard plastic that I cut just slightly larger than the inspection sticker and bolted it to the right edge of the plate holder. If you look at the picture above just imagine cutting the lower section off then pivot it so that it sits on the right lateral edge with the narrow portion of the tab away from the license plate holder.
The tab is only bolted down using the top right hand corner bolt so the plastic holding the inspection sticker can be rotated behind the license plate, hiding it if desired.

I'll try to take a pic so you can see what I'm referring to.

Do you live in Austin or are you very familiar with it?
For some reason I always thought you were part of the West Coast guys in Cali.

I had that plate....

I guess my question was where do you keep your inspection sticker when you have hidden your plate under the seat, near the sock?

Here is the side view of my plate hidden (kinda like stealth kit from motodynamic) Where do you keep your sticker then?  I saw some make a bracket large enough to mount to the swingarm and some just stick it to the swingarm.  I'm currently have my sticker under the seat (where the tool bag is haha  Grin )

thanks!

Do you have a pic of your plate mounted?
It would give folks a better idea to see what you have to start with.

****BUT, I'm sure you can mount it like I have mine, regardless of where on your bike the plate is located.

Pedro, does that actually fly? You don't get stopped by running it 90 degrees to the plate? If that is the case, I'm going with your mount system.  Also, do you have to have rear reflectors?

I have never **knocks on wood** had a problem with this. It's how I also have it mounted on my S4, now over 5 years.
IMO it's not any different than mounting it on the swingarm. It's visible, thats all that counts.

I have never heard of reflectors being mandatory anywhere on the motorcycle. From what I understand, to pass inspection in Texas all you need is a brake light and headlight. You don't need the signals, but if you do have them they need to work.

Why not mount at the base of the plate, just below it? Make a small plate holder out of a thin hard plastic.
