Whoa... I see everyone else's day was busy, as well.  No posts since 8pm yesterday?  Yowsers.

If you were going to hide a key on your bike where and how would you do it?

I'd put it underneath my battery. Then again, my battery box is a fantastic upright bowl thing with no huge holes for keys to fall out of, and my seat lock is defunct, so access would not be an issue. Dunno how all these new-school bikes are configured.

Don't plug the bottom of that tube, the top is open because of the slit and holes in that funky Ducati top nut.  You'll start collecting rain water and soak the key.

The point is easy accessability if you lose your main key while in East Butt Scratch.  Thanks for the ideas guys.  I still don't like the concept of having one on the bike somewhere that someone might find and ride away.  Don't know if I'd rather lose a key and be potentially stranded either.  Decisions . . . decisions . . .

On a completely different note:
I called a guy in today for attempted murder.  Green Explorer first 3 letters of plate 634.  Beaverton/Hillsboro area.

Short version is I was rolling along in the right lane coming up on an off ramp (mine was next) when this Explorer comes barreling over and forces me off as he exits.  Scares the crap out of me!  But I think it's an honest mistake and make room, calm down, etc. but now I'm on a road I don't want to be on.  So we come up on a light and I get in the lane I want and he's a car or 2 ahead of me.

As we go my lane is going faster than his so I am pulling up along side him when he lunges at me again.  Full on intentional swerve.  I brake and he misses and he barely misses the curb he swung over so hard to get me.

He kept rolling a bit more as he was trying to brake.  There was a parking lot entrance between us.  Just as I was gunning it to get in he put it in reverse.

I got in a very public place in the parking lot and called it into the police.

It was loud and I was pretty wired so I don't think I caught it all or remember it all but they didn't agree with my assessment of attempted murder - think she said vehicular assault.

They didn't think they'd have much luck finding him but I did start hearing sirens before I even got off the phone.

Guess I should check the local news sites.

Hope the Karma cops get 'em!  Angry

that is fooking nuts. Its very hard to prove that sort of thing is intentional. Sometimes I think its best handled in... other ways. What ever that means.

PS
Hiding a key on your vehicle is usually a bad idea IMHO. Why not wire it into your jacket or boots or whatever you're always going to wear when you ride to East Butt Scratch.

If I was going to hide a key on my bike somewhere... I would not be revealing said location on the interwebz.  Wink

There are lots of nooks and crannies.

Safety wire and duct tape are wonderful things.

but...

Your bra is probably a safer bet.

'nuff said.

As far as people attempting to kill ya... Well, maybe folks will stop asking why I wear a SIG anywhere and everywhere allowed by law.  Roll Eyes

Since he didn't die on the spot, I hope the cops caught (or soon catch) the wanker.

Shameless plug:
I strongly recommend the CHL (Concealed Handgun License) class by Stu Nakamura at the Clackamas Public Safety Training Center.  Followed by acquiring one's CHL.  Followed by more training.  Then start packin' heat.

Scot

you must use a little common sense here

put in a drain hole

pull the plug periodically

you can't make any modification or adjustment and just leave it

No offense intended Mother Wink  I don't have much common sense, I only seem to learn after I've made a mistake myself.  Most advice I give can be followed by, "Ask me how I know."

Hey, you and Jbubble going to the wedding party?  I have a case saver for her.
