My work parking lot is covered in gravel from the snow... and they haven't done anything to sweep it off in two weeks... It's ticking me off cause the weather warrants riding into the office... but the gravel makes it a beeyotch... and people keep kicking it up all over the place.

On a side note... I am bored... entertain me!!   Grin

28 degrees at home this morning, dark out with frost on everything. I skip riding in, now its completely sunny and feels like its in the 50's.  Not sure if the tradeoff is worth it to me right now. Have a cold ride in the dark with gravel and potholes, for a short ride home in the fading sunlight at 5pm. hmmmm. I think ill just wait til this weekend.

A buddy of mine in Minnetonka says that his kids are outside blowing bubbles... and the bubbles freeze in the air and then fall. It is -40 there right now, with the wind chill. He says anything over zero is shorts weather.   bang head

Anyone see the news that the airliner crashed into the hudson river? 150 people on it, video of it is strange to watch seeing the tail fin of that big old airliner sticking out of the water. Last i checked everyone was out safe, but they barely made it, hanging out on the wings of the plane while it sunk having those boats throw them all life jackets. Some of the people interviewed by the media the stories sounded scary water up to thier knees while waiting to exit the plane as it sinks. NO thanks!

At least somebody smart calmed them down so that they didn't trample each other getting off of the plane.

Approx. 40 salaried individuals layed off from my company yesterday and today (though not me - whew).

Equates to about ~10% of salary ranks.  Although we knew for weeks this was coming, it's never a fun experience.

Some individuals with 20+ years seniorty, some with post-graduate degrees, some highly placed.  Didn't matter.

However, being layed off is not the end of the world.  I can vouch for that - I don't think I would have moved to Pdx if I hadn't been layed off in '93.  So for me, it was a great new beginning.

Anyway.

Good luck to all.

J

The fact that I find great joy in watching a professional athlete (who makes more in a day than I make in a year) screw up his lines take after take even while looking at the cue cards, that doesn't make me a bad person, right?

Mo - I got my exhaust for the SV!!! Woo hoo! That's what I get to do this weekend. So, how long should I wait before calling Eric and seeing if he has found me a rear break rotor?  Grin  I don't expect one, but I should at least check back with him.

Rolled out the SS this afternoon... went for a half-hour ride in the country.  [moto]  Grin  So happy!  Except for the fact that I couldn't feel my hands afterward... took a couple minutes before I could feel my fingers.  C'est la Vie.  The countryside was beautiful.  Had to be careful of gravel, but no biggie.  I went into corners cautiously, assuming gravel everywhere, so there were no pucker moments.

Can't wait for spring to return...
