I have a carbd monster with pod filters and i am in the process of moving my fuse box to the battery tray under the tank. I would also like to move the voltage regulator under the tank behind my pod filters. Will it get to hot under there?

While its an ugly location up the front of the bike, its about the best place for cooling, and regulators can get hot. There are threads dealing with burnt out regulators from being relocated out of the airstream. I personally feel uneasy about putting the regulator  under the fuel tank. People who have relocated them out of the airstream have had more success when ensuring an effective heat sink.

agree with koko64...if you are going to relocate the RR, move it to under the bottom triple or somewhere with the most airflow exposure possible...run the bike out on the road for 15-20 mins and then get off and pop the seat and put your bare hand on it and you'll get a quick idea why....

Worth using some of THIS when you relocate it, as long as you're mounting it to metal.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Doesn't someone make a kit that flips it to the underside of the seat?

i saw a TPO kit but i think that is for the newer monsters where it was under the seat. mine was at the front of the frame. I went ahead and moved it under the tank by my pod filters. I mounted it to a big piece of aluminum diamond plate i had laying around to help capture some air and absorb some heat. I poted pix in the homemade mods thread. Hopefully it works. After 15  minutes of idling in my garage I shut the bike down opened the tank and the regulator temperature was at 105 degrees. I thought about it and the 748 regulator is located under the side fairing where it also doesnt get airflow at idle

Yeah, I went to that set up after mine burst into flames.  FTR, that is not an exaggeration.  There were actual flames involved.  The word "overheated" doesn't quite get the idea across.
