I'm taking my son this weekend to spend a few weeks in Tampa so he can be spoiled by his Grandma.  If there's anyone in the area that would like to get together for drinks, let me know.  I won't have the bike with me, but I'm still extremely excited about taking some vacation time.

Good for you!

We havent had a real vacation in three years and looking forward to 10 days in Maui starting next week.  Scuba, snorkeling, and whale watching.  Oh yeah  [thumbsup]

Both of you have a good one. [thumbsup] Nothing like a little time off, change of pace and some different real estate to look at to clear up a cluttered and cloudy mindset. Just got off the phone with the wifely unit talking about our summer escape. Lots can happen between now and then so I'm a little hesitant to make etched in stone plans in January.

Again, hope you guys have a great time. Maui? How can you have a bad time in Maui? [laugh] [popcorn] ;)
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

Simple, the last time we were on Maui, decided to go for a dip in the ocean at Big Beach. (south of Kihei)
Sharon (Mrs. sno_duc) was in the wrong place at the wrong time and got bowled over by a rogue wave. (ten feet further out to sea and it would have passed by harmlessly)
Factured L1, L2, L3, L4, C5, and C6. 2 days in the ICU, another 4 days in the hospital, and 12 weeks in a brace.
The ER staff knew which beach just by looking at the sand  :o, that's how many they see from Big Beach.
Research which beaches you decide to use and watch out for rogue waves.

On the plus side go to the Farmers Market in Kihei and get some of the local grown sweet corn. Heaven on a cob  [drool]
A conclusion is the place you got tired of thinking

I was going to avoid this subject but the one time I went to Hawaii on vacation with my then (now ex) wife we had a "fabulous" eggs Benedict meal at our hotel as a going away breakfast. It was on Maui but no way I can remember the name of it... it was in '88. We milled around, had lunch somewhere, went to the airport, turned in our rent car and flew to the big island for the 8 hour flight back home to Dallas.

In the airport the wife starts to feel funny and goes to the restroom and throws up. We both thought she had gotten it out of her system and she seemed to feel a little better. We eventually board the plane for the flight home and bingo... she starts to feel nauseous again. Yep, she runs to the bathroom on the plane and hurls. She comes back to the seat looking white as a sheet and the flight attendant checks on her. Famous last words... "If you think you have food poison you really don't want to be on an 8 hour non-stop flight." I man up and say "Ah, she'll be all right, she's got it out of her system now." FAIL!!!!

A half hour into the flight it hits me. People think we are drunk/stoned because we keep staggering to the bathrooms at the back of the plane every 5 minutes! The crew was pretty nice at first offering us blankets and cups of chipped ice... which we couldn't keep down. But after a few hours they gave up on us and wouldn't even answer the call buzzer. >:(

Thank God for wide body 747 airplanes, they have lots of bathrooms! The other passengers finally figured we were sick not drunk and would step out of the way when we rushed to the bathrooms. I'm still thankful for their courtesy and understanding.

Yes, it was a God awful flight (and for several days after we were home) and I have never had the courage to eat eggs Benedict ever since. Besides all that Maui was freaking awesome!!! [thumbsup] [popcorn] [laugh]

I know! The wife and I rode it easily 10 times in a row just to get the right photo. It was during the week in the off season. No lines. We finally nailed it and the guy selling us the picture was glad to see us go.

He's only three, so the roller coasters will have to wait, but there's still plenty to do.

OH MY GOD!!!  Your poor wife!!!  Good thing there was no permanent damage.  We spend a LOT of time in the water, but tend to snorkel and scuba so we are usually at beaches with little or no surf.
