Hi, I am going to change the tires of my 2007 695 but I don't have the service manual yet.  I was hoping someone could let me know the torque specs for when I put her back together:

- Front and Rear axle
- Front Pinch Bolts
- Front Caliper Bolts
- Rear Caliper Bolts

Cheers

Hi, thanks very much for letting me know the link, it looks like it has every torque spec outside of the engine for me.  Here is what I found:

Front wheel nut  M25x1.25  63
Front axle clamp bolt  M8x1.25  20
Front brake caliper bolt  M10x1.25  43

LH rear wheel nut  M33x1.5  156
RH rear wheel nut  M38x1.5  176
Rear brake caliper bolt  M8x1.25  25

Caliper mounting bracket pin  M12x1.25  33

I am assuming all the values are newton meters, I will convert them to foot pounds.

One quick question, the list has different torque values for each bolt on each side of the rear axle?  I am also assuming that the rear axle is a long bolt that goes through the rim.  Or am I wrong for this bike?  I just want to confirm, I have changed a fair amount of bike tires, but not a ducati before, I haven't seen different torque values on the same axle before.

Once again, thanks very much for the torque thread, is much apreciated :D
Cheers

The rear axle torque specs you have there are for a single sided swing arm.  Your 695 is 83 Nm.

cjbenedict

oh, ok, I haven't delt with single swingarm bolts before so maybe that was why I was confused.  But the other torque specs are correct?  Thanks for pointing it out.

Howie

Yep, you won't need to do anything with the caliper mounting bracket pin though.

Sounds good.  I'm working night shift tonight, will change the tires tomorrow, early evening, will let you know how easy ducati designed the bike to be worked on ;)

Cheers

Check the PM I sent you.

That should solve all your problems

That's awesome, thanks very much,  will see about getting it this morning.

I changed the tires last night, was surprisingly a friendly bike to work on.  Everything came off and went on easily except for the front axle, it was really tight and awkward to take out/put in.  The clamping bracket for the axle was super tight, I eventually had to resort to a screw driver and a mallet to spread it a tiny bit so I had just enough to hammer the axle back into place (rubber mallet).

The bike looks good with new rubber on :)
