My horn switch is broken, and the turn signal switch is sticky.

The part number shows as 651 4 007 2A, and there is one on eBay.  The most expensive one @ $189.  Wouldn't you know it.  lol

There are several assemblies that look similar to mine on eBay.  Can I purchase a used assembly and "rob" these two switches for fitment in my bike?

Thanks, Danny

Howie

I can't say anything about eBay switches since "looks like" is not enough info, but you might want to consider this one from Ca-Cycleworks if you are willing to deal with the connectors. This one will allow you to turn your headlight off.

Most (if not all) of the horn switch problems I've seen on the early switches were due to the contacts being bent/pushed out of position.

They can be fixed, but it's a bit of a PITA.
Disassemble, clean, lube, reassemble.

Hello howie and Speed

I believe that I like the idea of burning the head light.

Speed - I see that you're from Ventura.  I'll be in your town this Friday afternoon and Saturday working on our dragster.  Farr Automotive, 1645 Callens Rd.  Feel free to stop by and say hi.

Dan, you can turn the headlamp off to start the bike.  Then try to remember to turn it on again.

Hello Battle

My headlight doesn't seem to be as bright as I would like.  I'm going to see if a pair or relays (high and low) will help.  If it does, I'll install a third relay to drop the lights when the starter is spinning.

Dan, thanks for the invite, I'll try to drop by to say hi and kick the slicks. [beer]

As far as headlight brightness, the socket for the bulb is a suspect, and the somewhat flaky ground setup of the early Monsters is too.
