Back at it today, was up in Chattanooga doing some squirrel work. Ran 300+ through the 48. It needs a little more tweaking, but this skinny gun has serious potential.

I'm currently running an RMR on my Walther Q5 Match. I originally had the RMR RM05 dual illuminated model (no batteries needed.) I upgraded to the RM06 3.25MOA illuminated last year and have really liked the optic. Big improvement. I like the idea of the SRO, and it fixes my biggest complaint with the illuminated RMR; having to change batteries at the range to check zero. I'm glad that Trijicon is going to a battery accessible from the top. 
i change by batteries every 3 months. Overkill I'm sure, but it makes me feel better.

Dude. The battery in the RMR will last up to 3yrs. It’s certainly not a big deal to change them out, what, 3-5min. The SRO seems to be an upgrade,but only 1-2-5moa as of now. If you get one before I do, post thoughts on it.

Fairly solid session today, 300ish rds thru the G48. Started with a cold 25yd shot from the holster on a 8”x8” plate, Ding. My boy had taken most of the steel to a match this weekend, so I only had small tgts to work.

“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.” Group has brought me in as an advisor for SFAUC. Actually we’ve been discussing it for a few years. I thought the youngsters had listened to me before I retired, but they’ve been steadily make the beast with two backsing up my legacy.  They’re giving me 8 days during the 3 week course, and I’ll spread it around. I’ve been grooming the lead instructor for awhile now, and he finally understands the method to the madness. I worked with the assistant instructors for a few hours today and will continue with them tomorrow and Thursday leading up to the start of the course on Monday. It’s an honor for me to work with these young barrel chested freedom fighters.

Finished with the instructor train up today. We did 2 days of flat range work, a day of training in the shoot house, and today we did 3 separate hits on 2 different targets. We had 2 UH-60 fast rope capable birds. Basically did a rolling thunder. Back to back to back. Solid work by the boys.

Day 1 with the class. Solid group of dudes, but they need some grooming. I was dropping knowledge bombs all day today. Back in my element training SF guys. This is an honor for me, and if you know me, I don’t take this shit lightly.

Probably around 86 when I taught sniper school in the Marines.   Actually texted with Nic today. She still loves me.   Oh, and the movie my old TM SGT wrote about ODA 765 is a go. The director, who was the stunt coordinator on Destroyer is in town. I’ll be bringing him out to observe some of the training first hand. I’m gonna scramble his brain.  He’s gonna bring me on as the technical advisor.
