Heading up to boone for the weekend.  Didn't know if anyone else would be in the area.  I rode the snake for the first time the first couple days in April and there wasn't a single LEO and probably only 5 other bikes seen all day.  It was mostly ideal conditions (except for the local who poured fertilizer in the road at the entry of a turn that caused me to lowside).  Anyone been since?  Anything new to watch out for.  I saw some reports of random tickets for license plates earlier.

One of the guys off NCSportbikes was up there yesterday.  He said it was clean and in good shape.  Another member mentioned LEO presence was elevated on weekends.

One of my best friends lives in Boone.  I go up there a couple of times a year.  I rode my 696 up there in early November.  On the way back home, I got on the BRP outside of Boone and rode it 120mi down to Asheville.  What exactly is "the Snake?"  I've never heard of it.

aka Deal's Gap.
I've lived in NC for almost six years and I've never ridden it. Word is you have to go during the week otherwise it is overrun with cars, semis and cops-a-plenty.

421 up in northeastern Tennessee, the town at one end is called Shady Valley.
