Has the pilot done an interview yet?

Gag order on the entire crew imposed by the FAA.

Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

I knew the landing and the entire situation was amazing but this definitely puts you there. Good on Cpt Sully.

Yup. It's amazing to listen to his voice and what he's choosing to focus on as the situation goes downhill -- once it's no longer an option to divert to another airport, he stops talking to the tower and works with his first officer on putting the plane in the water.

And I stifled a nervous laugh when the subtitles that showed the in-cabin audio, seconds before impact, showed him asking his first officer "Any ideas?" and the reply "Actually, no."

The pilot's first job is always "just fly the airplane" especially in an emergency. Pilot first, radio operator second. Awesome job by this guy and FO Skiles.
