S2R waiting for parts to return from paint shop.

Took the opportunity to do the 14th tooth mod.

And some new pods.

Parts back from paint shop! Nice~

Swing arm back on. Also cut-off(Dremel) the stock brackets that used to hold the passenger foot pegs, side covers and coils(I will relocated this later on custom PCB assembly box).

3 light coats of can paint

Master link back in chain

Front end work: Prep to remove top/bottom triple clamps and shocks.

...to be continued

You had the rear sprocket "painted" or powder coated?  I'm wondering how it will hold up after some use.  waytogo

I am also about to hack off my stock pass. peg mounts and so on like you did.
If I may askwhat color and brand paint did you end up going with ?
Been having a hell of a time trying to find something that matches the stock frame color..

Thanks guys. I'm not mechanically inclined. It is not my domain what so ever. I just know enough to be dangerous. Most of the things I'm doing on my s2r I've read/learned from this site. So... really. Thank you DMF  waytogo This is indeed a great site!

Yes. It is powder coated... for now. I don't expect it to last long either  waytogo
I figured why not?... It wasn't anymore or less expensive since i was having the swing-arm, rear sets and other bits such as the kick stand powder coated. If any of you are looking for a great powder coating place in the SF Bay area. Shoot me an email.

When you find a match pls. let me know Smiley
I took a piece of the bracket i chopped off to an industrial automotive paint store. Buddy there said he could not get me the match in an aerosol spray coz:
1. My sample was too small of a surface to use their matching tool on.
2. The shiny flakes(whatever it's called) Ducati puts in the paint used on the frame don't come in a can  Sad

So we chose something out of a catalog that best matched in terms of gloss. It's all you can do really for a rattle can.
I used SEM 39143 trim black. It says it matches factory finish on many automotive exterior trim components.

dude your swing arm looks sick!, what kind of black is that? it has a black chrome look to it!

as for the sprocket, be prepared to clean some powder chips of your chain for the first run around the block but regarldess that rear looks sick man. good job!

Installed an aftermarket SportClassic top triple clamp. Don't ask me where to buy it. I got it as an extra when i bought my used 06 Sport1000 last month. Pickup the bottom triple on flea Bay. I have a stock 06 s2r triple clamp set for sale if any one is interested  Grin
Then had a beer...  drink then a second drink
Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA. Hummm hummm hummm... good stuff! If you get a chance to buy this beer. Pls do yourself a favor a pick a 6-pack. One of the best IPA to ever be put in a bottle. I don't say this to just about any beer! waytogo

Everyone thinks "color color color" when it comes to powdercoating & paint.  But sometimes what is more important is the "gloss factor" -- here is a prime example of maybe @45-50% gloss powdercoating looking much better than 100% gloss.

Great job -- keep up the good work and paying attention to not just the color itself but the gloss factor as well!  That upper triple looks cool too.
