i always liked how the multi felt on the road but never could accept its ugly duckling status....

this is a multi project that could get me really interested in keeping my eye on the classifieds for a while...

im in love with it!!  waytogo

So I went and had a look at the tank this morning, which is getting fiberglass work to cover the indents for the fairing attachments...which are no longer needed. I decided to fill the holes, rather than cut the tank to remove them like Nick (motogpfan) did. No matter what I had to fill in the rear fairing mount points anyway since they can't be cut out like the front ones can, so I figured why not just fill all of them in.

The fiberglass work is complete, except for some minor bondo type work to smooth things out. Looking good so far!  waytogo Paint on the tank should be done in a week or two.  Grin I also dropped off the frame, triples, etc. for powdercoat two days ago , so it will be done in a week. Re-assembly should begin in 2-3 weeks.

Here's a few shots of the tank:

The tank is finished!  Grin Picked it up today, along with the rear seat cowl and front fender. They look great.  waytogo

Did you chop the back of the frame?  I am really excited to see how this turns out! Once again keep up the great work!

Did you chop the back of the frame?

Yep. I removed the portion behind the cross member housing the pillion seat latch.
