you can blow me but you can't blow by me

« on: October 29, 2008, 04:12:53 PM »

It's supposed to be 13 and sunny on Sunday, anyone up for a ride, maybe down to Port Dover along the lake or somewhere around  Campbellville and tool around that area, nothing too early (needs to warm up) or too far (cools down) Damm I'm becoming a suck.  I didn't see anything on DOCC site (guess everyone is pissed about the drop in temp).

Hey brad the lad,

I will be definitely be riding this week-end in the good weather but I won't be able to make it out your way.  I hope you have fun and hopefully we will meet up on DOCC rides next year.  Enjoy the good weather while you can!

By the way, I was riding for about an hour last night dressed in my winter gear.  There was some light snow flakes in the air but nothing on the ground.  Still the roads were very hard and my tires had minimal grip in the turns.  Had to be smooth accelerating out of turns (the rear tire spins and slides easy). Still it was a blast.  I ride all winter (albeit much shorter trips and very little highway stuff).  Last year sucked because we had so much snow and the roads were covered a lot and I don't ride on snow or ice (on purpose anyways).   I hope we don't get so much snow this year.

Take it easy dude,

I packed my bike away in the basement. I'll get it out again if its 13 on Sunday. Next year, we have to get a whole flock of Monsters out on a ride. I see a ton around, but never seem to see to many in one place.
Cheers

Hey Brad:

I shot you a PM saying I'm in for Sunday.  Is Liz coming out?  Should I try to get ahold of Paul?

So like Africaboy was saying, lots of Monsters around but nothing organized for any type of rides or gatherings, just a lot of dudes wondering.

Gonna have to do something about that next summer and get all of these clods together.  I nominate you to organize!! lol

Let me know where and what time you what to hook up.

Well I just checked with the weather network on line and apparently Sunday doesn't exist,  ???but if indeed Sunday does exist and the weather is not too foul lets do the Dover thing.  Brett please get a hold of Paul I'll even try to call Krash (though he does ride a 996 it's still a duck) anyone else out there if the weather is half decent lets go for it.  Get a little cruiser strafing in (Brett you know what I'm taking about) maybe meet at Starbucks south part of Brantford at 11.00Am (DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME)  [coffee]just starting to warm up and drink some caffeine beverage then due haste to Dover meet at the Pier area then blast down the radical road etc towards Long Point,  grab a bite (where?)  bacon get home before the long shadows. All weather pending.  Gather yea of Monster breather-en but lets not follow me near Williams forest as there are no crops to slow your journey in to the field this time of year (inside joke). cheeky

Ok so I text Paul to let him know, weather is supposed to be partly cloudy with a high of 8...hmmm I guess a few stops at a Hortons to warm up.

Brad are you talking about the Starbucks over by me here in West Brant at 11:00AM.

Guys from out of town:  Toronto will take you about an hour to get here.

Ute probably best to meet us straight in Dover if coming from London.

See ya in the morning....email me at bleng@rogers.com if you need directions.

Hope to see you out.

Yeah the Only (I think starbucks in Brantford?) south of the bridge. I think Paul and his yellow 996 is in.  Liz and her silver M750 is in for at least part part of the ride, and I put the invite on DOCC web though I doubt much reply being such short notice but if you haven't done the road between Dover and Long Point you are in for a treat.
"lets fly south" (well to Long Point anyway) we'll skip the flying v formation though.

Well sadly the turnout out was only 2.  "Krash" on his yellow 996 with his girlfriend and myself.  You gotta like a girl when she says "I like to go fast". Going to plan this out a little better and farther in advance come next summer for a more prosperous turnout.

The cold was a little biting on the finger tips and with some windbursts kept the speeds in check.  (Hey Brad I made the turn this time and didn't run through the field)

Dover had the usual "die hard" Harley crew, and then our trip went south through Port Ryerse, on to Fisher's Glen into Normanville.  A quick skip through Turkey Point, blasting now into Booths Harbour and ending in Port Rowan for a fill up.  Ran back the same way.

By the time we returned to Brantford, pretty much the wind had chilled right through to the bones.

Still clear weather and the roads in good shape it was a nice little zoom.

Hope to see you guys come next season.
