alright, let's not get all teary-eyed about this...seriously. hopefully i'll still be welcomed in the group with my next bike, even if it has a much larger gas tank and sounds like a sewing machine...
for sale is a 1996 supersport 900 SP, #921, or, the hunter s. thompson special, as i like to call it.
the bike has approaching 34k miles on it, and has a clear and clean texas title. i'm kind of lazy, though, and it's still actually in the previous owner's name.
some of the mods i can think of off the top of my head (which isn't saying much):
ohlin's rear shock
steering damper (right side)
adjustable front forks (prev. owner claims that forks had an upgrade kit done...new valving or springs; i'm not sure though)
new-ish wave rotors in the front
new-ish brake pads front and rear
steel braided brake lines (front and rear)
STM oil breather
Evo clutch slave
new voltage regulator at AMS
Vee-two billet aluminum clutch hub
Nichols billet aluminum clutch basket
rizoma aluminum clutch cover
dynacoil ignition coils + wires
K&N air filter (airbox is still fully covered)
FBF slipons
new NGK spark plugs (about 2000 miles on them?)
new YUASA battery; about four months old?
clip-ons (not sure if they're stock...they're black and easily adjustable)
c/f belt covers (with wire mesh covers)
c/f front fender
c/f rear hugger
double bubble black windscreen
gorilla alarm, with three remotes (loud as shit), has tilt sensor, shock sensor, and voltage sensor, and LED indicator
powder-coated gold marchesini rims (bit more "bling" than the normal ducati gold tone)
new italian SNK bearings (few months old) in front and rear wheels
michelin pilot powers front/rear 120/70 and 180/55, about 1000 miles on or less
aluminum rear sprocket (42T i believe; i'll have to double-check); 15T front sprocket; DID chain
also have the whole rear plastic fender stock for it (i chopped up the rear fender a bit with a dremel) that's included
have the stock rear blinkers for it also (have some smaller blinkers on it right now)
AMS did alot of the maintenance on this bike if not all of it (bought it from a guy in garland) but don't have all the service receipts
the bike is no garage queen, that's for sure. here are some issues i can think of currently:
carbs should probably be synced
not 100% sure when valve timing was adjusted last...AMS may know though
there is a popping on decel...not sure if a jet-kit is installed; may be cured when carbs are looked at
horn button fell off the control
top of kickstand bracket cracked portion of the engine casing
the seat has a slight white mark on the right side...not sure what from. the seat is fairly new, though...so it's comfy as hell at least
anything else; please ask me. or AMS. stuart i think was the one that knew the bike the best, but surely others in the shop could find out what else had been done to it...honestly i just hadn't bothered to ask them. Randy checked this out when i first got it, and it met with his seal of approval...he said he'd ride it anywhere.
