Have you seen The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou?

One of the guys on his crew plays nothing but acoustic Bowie covers sung in Spanish.

Animal Collective's new album. Not the best song below but a sample none the less.

no, that sounds interesting tho.  bowie did quite a bit of original translations, most were not sold in the USA.  i have a few albums (vinyl) of singles in other languages that he did.  spanish, italian, german, french. i know he's fluent in german and french and to a lesser extent spanish and italian.

back in the "day" i had every US release of bowie, plus another 50-60 european releases, and i doubt it was a quarter of what he had floating around.

you could spend all your time listening to bowie, and bowie covering bowie, and bowie translating bowie, and you'd never need to hear a cover band do bowie!  rofl

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

But not necessarily in that order.

Being a huge fan of his main band, Porcupine Tree, I am listening to Steven Wilson's solo album "Insurgentes".

The DVD-A mix is pretty cool, and the music, as I have come to expect from a genius of his calibre, is top notch.

So far, it's a little more low key than PT is. Less massive distorted guitars, and more acoustic, but with many added layers in the production.

Anyone who may be into Radiohead or other similar bands should listen to Wilson and Porcupine Tree. Excellent, excellent material.
