I watched the whole ACL set last night. I actually forgot how insanely good he was. RIP

Nobody like him. He was ridiculously talented. Even  B.B. King said he wished he had the passion Stevie did. Last time I saw him was the tour he was killed on.

Weird story. I am not clairvoyant but during the tour when SRV died, I had tickets to see him and was very excited. I don’t know why but a few weeks before he died, I told my buddy, “Did you see SRV died?” The news was very clearly in my mind and it was very real to me. He told me I was crazy and that he didn’t die. This was pre-interwebs so we went back and forth all day that I was out of my mind. After maintaining a keen eye on MTV news all day we didn’t see anything about SRV passing. SRV was alive and well and I chalked it up to a dream and moved on. A few weeks later he passed.

 waytogo

In other news, we have a yearly local event here in the Bay Area called Hardly Strictly Bluegrass.

It is this weekend, and they will be live streaming - a great lineup as usual = https://www.hardlystrictlybluegrass.com/

So many great artists have performed & come back year after year... I have been fortunate enough to have seen John Prine there a number of times over the years (RIP)

Pretty neat story on the event & our benefactor (RIP Warren) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardly_Strictly_Bluegrass

Nice. I've seen them several times, they never disappoint. Probably my favorite band to see live.
