I would love to take a trip, simply because I haven't been off the island (other than for family medical issues) since we got here.

It's a good reason, it is.  I will be going to Louisiana the end of June, then back here 4 days later, then back to the mainland for a month 8 days after that.  I'll be broke for a while, but I'll manage.

Nope, these are all my own.  Sorta.  The sister was supposed to be getting married in July, when I was already going to be on leave.  Then she bumped it up a month.  So now I will be taking 4 days of leave, flying home, transferring out of my current shop, then taking my transfer leave.  Then coming home, moving in to a new shop, etc.  It'll be a blast. No, really.

But on a slightly more serious note...  Rick and I are the only people who have shown up the last two weeks and we were chatting this morning about how maybe Ward Ave. is not the best place to meet up for everyone.  Anyone care to weigh in on whether or not we should keep it there or maybe pick a new, or simply revisit an old, site?

kind of depends on which way the ride's going for the day... for the usual windward roads, it makes sense.

We could, but they seemed to be mainly best for cocktail runs.  Have to say that their selection of tasty malted beverages left lots to be desired...

Haven't been to Waldo's, so cannot comment on its goodliness.  The Lakehouse (sp?) was pretty nice though.  And I still say we should get decals for everyone's bikes so we can go to the Hideaway.  ;D

Sorry there Mac and Ben.  I had no intention of getting into a bad way, just went to a friend's graduation party, they opened like 8 bottles, then when they were gone, opened many many more.   And when the man is pouring $100 + vino, it's hard to say no.

lol  Tell me about it.  I went on a technology exchange once with SPOT Image, when I was stationed in Germany, and the CEO took us all out to dinner on the first night.  We went to this really posh place where the car had to drop you off and then drive away.  The wine we were drinking was REALLY good and I asked one of our hosts what he new of the vineyard.   The guy (he was the chief of procurements mind you) told me that he had never heard of this one particular vintner, but said that the region was very well regarded and quite exclusive.  Well, at the end of the evening I asked one of the gentlemen at the restaurant where I could get some of the wine and how much it was.  I almost died when he told me it cost over 900 euro per  bottle!! 

yep, that trumps anything I've tried.

I could combine my two best bottles at home and... just be less than that  [laugh]

Tell me about it!  Thank god he "took" us all out and comped the tab.  I would have had to sell both kidneys, and maybe grabbed one off the street as well, to pay my share of the bill.

I'll show.  I'm halfway through the golf reshaft, could even be further along by the time I leave, maybe.  I also have the front brakes apart on an '84 Harley FLHS and can do no more due to wrong parts at hand.

Who's Harley are you working on?  One thing I have never understood about their bikes is their naming convention.  I mean, who the hell thought that crap up?  I will hold out on ever buying one until they come out with LMNOP model.  ;)

I'm working on my neighbor's bike (same guy that owns the Hypermotards).  You should see the sludge inside the caliper after we got the piston out. I'll take a picture. He had no brake fluid left in the master cylinder reservoir and, nothing but air would pump out of the caliper bleeder and nothing but mostly water remaining in the caliper. Uuugh.

Good ride today guys. When I got home I accused Tori of calling the cops on us  [laugh] [laugh].  Of course she denied it but thinks that one of the community association officers might have called it in. Those two guys in the pick up next to the white duallie were from the association.  It seems he thought that there was one, and one group only, that races the road.  She assured him that there were several different groups and that she has seen all the different groups (he just hears them go by).  She also told him that if there were any Ducati's in the group then they are definitely not the racer types.   [evil]  Good girl  [thumbsup]  ----- I also didn't notice that my wife drove by us (must have had my back turned to the road when she went by) -- caught a little grief for that but not bad.

How about the Police action today elsewhere??  That guy down at the H3/H1 interchange must have seen the cops parked there doing the laser tag thing then slammed on his brakes???  Or do you think there was a car involved in the accident? He looked pretty OK but the bike sure took it hard on the front end. Everything on both sides of the front and the tank looked well hammered.

Someone else should take the lead sometime.  We need to head back out to the middle of the island..  Maybe go out for an early morning breakfast run or something... My upstairs neighbor came back from a weekend on Maui with the Hypermotard.  He says we absolutely have to go over there, no question about it so save up boys and let's get it together.

The Maui run is tops on my list of stuff to do.  Just not in July, please!

I enjoyed the ride today.  I've never taken a bike on Tantalus, and the Monster handled much better than expected.  As for leading, I think we are all willing to jump in there, but I, for one, don't know the downtown area worth a darn.  Bring it up here, though...

Yea, that bike (CBR I think) looked like it took it pretty hard.  He (the rider) gave us a bit of a wave as we went by and it appeared that his had/wrist was all bandaged up.  Shame really, but he did seem to have all the right gear and was at least smiling as they put him in the back of the police vehicle.

I am up for a breakfast run up around North Shore next weekend.  We can all meet up at the sports park again if that fits everyones schedule, say around eight or so?

Back on topic here......... It's getting hard to keep track of which thread is which without a scorecard ...... I'm up for a Sunday morning breakfast run.

Ok, I think we are trying to decide which day is best for what.  I know Tristan won't be available for the Sunday morning ride, because he will still be getting is AM groove on, and had suggested we try to do it on Saturday morning instead.  If that were to happen then we would still have Sunday to go out as well on the normal route.  Or, we could still use one of those times for some modding at my place.  :D

Saturday mornings are out for me. Sat. afternoon I can ride, mod, whatever. Same on Sun and Mon but just had to have time for chores in there somewhere.

No worries.  We can come up with someting.  One way or the other I want to go and ride the seven this weekend...

OK, it's raining, lightly.  This car is in the fast lane doing 30 mph flying formation with a bus in the right lane.  Geez, we had to get all the way around the sweeper/hairpin before there was room enough to jump in front of the bus.  Crap! If you're so damn worried about losing control in the rain don't fricken go out in it in the first place or get someone else to drive.

Well, today's ride started out good, but kind of ended in a very discombobulated fashion.  Michael and I went and met Rick/Mac and had breakfast, then went to JJ for the eleven o'clock showing.  Lots of people were there this time around and it quickly became clear that HPD had made a showing at the FH meet earlier and all participants had then staged to our ride.  So about 15 of us ended up riding out towards some urban twisties and before long one rider went down; thank god no one was hurt. Ultimately though the mentality/maturity of the "Ducati" ride seemed to be absent today and I have to say it wasn't the most enjoyable of occasions.  Needless to say, Michael and I went separate ways a bit early and did our own loop around the island and ran into Rick again once we got out of Waimanalo and did a run through Norfolk. 

All things being said, I have half a mind (half of it is already gone from the post ride beers that I have consumed) to recommend doing our own thing if the Sunday ride becomes more of a FH thing than a Desmotropic thing.  I am throwing all of this out to see what opinions/thoughts everyone else has, so please feel free to weigh in.

Yep. Not half bad either. Not Brents, but I'm spoiled. Breakers coffee comes in a distant last place compared to McDonalds, Brents and Starbucks.  [laugh].

Traffic was OK in the first part of the day but seemed to get progressively worse. No surprise there I suppose.

So far it looks like I'm being domestic all weekend.  Shouldn't be too bad though. I think WSBK racing is at Barber, USA on Sunday?? I also need to get back on the pedal bike. Haven't touched it since the epic rain ride last Thurs. Circumstances could change and those plans might be out the door. Will have to wait and see how today and tomorrow go.

I need to do this as well.  Alex took ours out for a short(ish) spin yesterday afternoon/evening.  I had almost forgotten how good it felt.  How far do you think you will go if you take the Peg out?

That's actually Speed Channel.  My mistake. The race is not at Barbers rather it's at Miller Motorsports in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I get the two tracks confused because of the name of a famous golfer, Miller Barber. Miller is in Utah (and is the same track where Freddie Spencer runs a bunch of his schools) while Barber is in Georgia and it also has schools and a great museum.  I believe this is the first time World Superbike Racing has come to the US. If you haven't watched this series then try to catch it or at least record it.  Pro Italia reports the first race is showing at 11 am Sunday so that should make it 8am our time. Maybe. Don't hold me to that.

Fat Freddy is running a school in SLC?  I'll be in SLC in about 5 weeks.  I should stop by and say howdy.

That sounds pretty reasonable.  We are trying to decide where we are going to take our bikes out to today.  Would love to go out towards Waialua and then pedal towards Sunset Beach and back, but I know the roads will be crowded...

He'll probably bring out his 1098 to the ride tomorrow.  I also found out today that the insurance company totaled Chris Jenson (Jenkins) 1098 which is why we haven't seem him or Anne, or at least one of the reasons.

I guess it could mean a new bike or at least a newish type replacement. I suppose he could get the Aprilia (dang, I keep forgetting to go into CC to see that thing).  My guess is that he'd stick with the 1098. On the other hand he was also talking about moving to the mainland sometime soon so maybe he's just not getting anything yet.

He's fine. Low side on the 1098 Easter Sunday behind a 749 Dark that low sided in front of him. Mostly cosmetic damage to the bike, clutch basket & clutch hub damage. The story I got was that one of the steering stops on the neck was broken off. Listed as frame damage so once the insurance company heard that along with all the other stuff that was all she wrote.

Such an inglorious end to a fabulous bike...

Just listen to the good Tiki (dressed in white) on your shoulder and not the bad Tiki (dressed in red and looking like  [evil]) on the other shoulder.

When you start hearing "Hey, this is really fun. Let's have another one, I can still handle" that might be the time.  Of course, you still have to be sober enough to hear.  [cheeky]  I think, for me anyway, when you think you hear the voice of caution but you say "F it I'm having another one and we'll see, or not, what the morning brings" then it's all over.

Try to remember that time a couple weeks ago when you slept until 4.  pm.   Maybe that will help.   [cheeky]

Like I said, there are lots of variables in play here. The main thing is to get back on the 999 and ride again. It's been so long since I've had a good "free thoughts - no issues" ride that I'm having difficulty remembering the experience and whether or not it's all worthwhile. One reason I got that bike is that it's a kick ass serious machine. That it is. Could I be happy on something else now? Dunno.

DesmoBob ---- Have you done a valve adjustment on your 999 yourself or did you have someone else do it? Have you had the valve clearances adjusted?

Yeah I did it at home at almost exactly 6,000 miles. I installed the MBP collets at the same time.

So guys, how is the weather for everyone?  The sun is starting to show its face here, but it looks a bit messy town side.  Weather says that the only area it is supposed to rain is Kailua (Sorry Mac) and the radar only shows a spot of activity over the mountains to the west of Schofield...  Let's pray for dryness.

I have to wait until the end of the day to figure that out. Sunday is Father's Day so there is some stuff planned but I don't know exactly what yet. It's also the final day of the US Open and if there's a close fight between the guys I like then I may have to watch that. We'll see but most likely I'll be riding.

I have the CRG Lane Splitters.  I was just too lazy to mail order the adapters, so I picked those up in LA.

So if I've got this right Ben showed up at the sports park at 8:00 yesterday morning and no one else did (maybe not even the new 675 Daytona guys?).  R-Lo probably showed up at Jamba Juice at 11:00 and no one else did. Yes? No? That might be a record of sorts.  There's always next week although I might go out for an early morning pedal ride.

Well, I got up to the sports park at about 0740 and waited for a while.  The one Daytona guy that wanted to come called me and said that he wouldn't be able to make it due to family issues/commitments, but that was it.  So I did the lap, plus a couple of runs down Norfolk, then made my way down to JJ.  Saw and chatted with R-Lo for a bit and then we went our separate ways.  I ended up at my buddy's one year old's birthday party for free lumpia.  :D

I had PM'd the Ted saying I was out, but I'm guessing you didn't get that message.   [cheeky]

The park and tennis courts we are referring to is the Patsy Mink(?) Regional Sports Park on the Waipahu side of Kam Hwy just outside of lower Mililani. You drive in and bear to the right when going into a roundabout. The road cuts left and then you turn right into the tennis court parking lot. Did I get that right? When Teddy first told me about it I was going "there ain't no park there on my map! It's canefield."  Shows you how current I am.  [laugh]

They are all set up to record, but the football is not until 8:30 tomorrow evening.  I've got both the WSB and MotoGP races set to record tomorrow morning.  Sad thing is, I still haven't seen the end of last week's MotoGP stage from Donnington.

But, more importantly, where and when do you think you will ride today?  Alex and I want to take the push-bikes out but don't really know where we want to take them.  Does Gloria ride by chance?

I don't know when they're broadcasting the MotoGP race but the race itself is all done, history at this point. That doesn't mean it's not worth recording or watching if you haven't missed it yet.

I wish Gloria would ride but no.  She has no desire to get on the race bike. I bought her an Electra Daisy cruiser with all the gold and orange and pink flowers and bright green wheels. It's actually very pretty. Then she found out that jumping back on a bike wasn't as easy as she remembered. Now she want an old beater to practice on before she rides the new one. Another garage queen.  ;D

If ya'll get serious about riding I can be mobile with the bike --  have roof racks will travel.

Same with us.  And only reason that I have kept the Golf really, simply because I don't see getting a roof rack on the S. 

Not sure when, or where, we are going to go.  I want to go ride, but Alex isn't nearly as fast as I am.  I hate leaving her behind, but I also hate riding slow...    :-\

And that, my friend, is the timeless dilemma of riding. You want to be supportive of friends and loved ones but at the same time you don't get the workout that you need. Then again you can ride with a fast group and get dropped like an old stinky sock. Somehow that doesn't feel as bad as leaving others behind. 

Nope, because then you just end up being angry at yourself and you can focus that angst into aggressive riding to keep up next time.  ;)

I had fun with you guys today even though it was a bit shorter than I would have liked.  Gloria & I have a standing Sunday afternoon thing and I could have been good for about another half hour total but.... that wouldn't have been that much good. Good for sure but there's always another afternoon. Either that or no more runs by the house between 1 & 2.  [laugh]

Following you through the turns was good too. I hit some apexes differently, not because I was following someone's line but I was playing a reel in fall back reel in thing, got some absolutely great downshifts which, in turn, helped set up a different corner line & speed. I'm thinking I have to tone down the exhaust on that bike so that my presence is less noticable.

We pretty much got rained out today, and I am watching the MotoGP ATM.  So far it is turning out to be the best race so far this season.

Good deal, I've seen a couple of WSBK races before (live at Laguna), where I decided that one day when I grew up, I was going to own a Duc....Ben Bostrom smoking his 916 down the straight away at Laguna pretty much sold me.  I think I'm going to try and cruise on up to the North Shore and tool around a bit, if it gets a little wet I'm pretty sure I'll dry out ok....I can't make it out for the next couple of weekends but will catch up with you guys sometime in mid-August.

It was looking all showery up in the highlands when I went to my friend's place in Makiki. Watched the GP race and then decided to head home. Holy Cow! Rained while I was inside. Raining all around Diamond Hd. Aina Haina --- Raining up on the Pali. I looked both ways and took my chances over the Pali. Wet on the lower section but no rain and dry roads on the upper section (?) --- through the tunnels and nice & sunny on Kailua side. Jacket, pants & t-shirt all drying off now.

Any plans for this weekend guys?  The Norfolk stage for Bicycling Racing is set for this Sat. am and not Sunday.

Then I suggest we terrorize Norfolk on our motor bikes this Sunday.  ;)

Good ride today.  Had a really good time ripping up through Norfolk and then trying to keep up with Mike on 13 Turns.  Hope to go out with the new Kailua boys again next week!

That is definitely, no question about it, the last time I go down Kam Hwy. on the North Shore, after 9am. That was nearly as bad as what Teddy & I sat through that one Memorial Day. That day was just plain solid cars. We didn't have a bunch of cars and a stupid, tourist driver in front of us like we did today. Did you notice that the driver of the jeep was the only person in the car?

I don't know yet. I crashed on the Pegoretti this afternoon. Hit a hole at about 20 mph and lost the front end. Amazingly the bike is OK. I've got a little road rash and some bruises. The helmet took three knocks but looks pretty good considering. We're having a dinner tonight with some friends from California so that means I'll have to do chores in the AM. We'll see. I'm getting stiff. Ouch.

Dude, sorry to hear that!!  But very glad to hear that the peg is ok.  That would be pricey to have to do serious repair work to the frame if the head-tube got tweaked.  Time to replace that helmet though.  Those things are designed for one knock and one knock only.  Don't know what brand you have, but I know Giro used to have a crash replacement policy that would allow you replace a lid for a fraction of the full price.

My ride wasn't anywhere near as eventful as yours.  Didn't feel like getting the rack on the golf, so ended up spending about an hour on the trainer.

It surprised the hell out of me. The sawhorse road barriers were all lined up one day so you knew there was some road work coming but I thought it just might be a slight repave or repaint of the parking stripes. That's where all the City & County workers park during the day.

The next day the curb was up and I mean a high curb. I bet it's 8" or more high and the asphalt lot on the other side was stripped down to bare dirt. There won't be any parking on the curb side as it's right at the edge of the road. Yesterday a group of four riders were parking at the gate to the City County yard. That might work for small groups unless someone wants to get in & out of the yard. I don't know if more than four can fit in that driveway.

I don't have this on any authority but my guess is that it's a part of the community association reaction against all the drug dealing - drinking that goes on there at night and also they want to eliminate the staging area for motorbike racing up & down the road on the weekends.  People will still make passes but it'll be tougher and no hanging out for smoke breaks and general BS'n.

It also might be in part reaction to the bike head on collision up on 13 turns a couple of weeks ago. Supermotard into a Kawasaki liter bike. Everybody is pointing fingers at the other guys but the point is that citizens are getting up in arms against the street racing hot dogging that's going on.

BTW,  the Sunday morning Starbucks fast crew went through here just a bit ago. Two passes at just under warp speed. Make your own judgment call. For myself I like to go fast enough to make it interesting but not to where I get the residents more than just irritated. Don't want to piss them off and pissing them off is what a lot of riders are doing.

I am not planning on doing that again anytime soon believe me. Most of the black & blue is gone now but my side is still a bit swollen. I've been on two rides using the Seven a few days ago so I'm good to go. I should take out the front forks on the Peg and check for cracks before I ride it again. The steering neck is just a touch loose but that's probably only due to the knock it got . It didn't make any noise or get any looser over the 16 miles I had to ride to get back home. Still, one needs to be careful about such things. The helmet is plenty good to go. I wouldn't get rid of it just because of the scratch however I've never really liked it anyway so who knows.

As for which bike to bring tomorrow, who knows? That's too big of a decision at this point.  [laugh]  I'd say the 8:30 run at JJ would be the ticket unless you've a plan that you like better.

Maybe on Sunday? Dunno right now as the boss is coming back from a trip and is supposed to race in the Dick Evans on Sunday. How'd you like to be flying in from Europe on Sat. night, get up Sun morning at 0 F'n dark hundred and then go out for a 115 mile bicycle race that starts at 0600 or 0630? I might be part of a support crew but then again I'm not sure at this point. Norfolk won't be clear until the afternoon as they use the road for part of the race. Race starts at Hawaii Kai goes out to Waipahu, North Shore, Kaneohe and back to Hawaii Kai. The leaders hit Norfolk around 10am and stragglers up to two hours afterwards. Norfolk will be coned. I wonder how they'll like the fact that it's down to two lanes at the parking lot now?

I'm game on Sunday, or Saturday for that matter.  Makes no difference to me seeing as how I am on leave.  ;)

And what matter should those pesky little push bikes be to us.  We can just plow through them.   ;D

It usually gets started around 0800.  You might actually want to pop round down there.  The event started off as a BMW club thing, then Porsche guys started showing up as well, and then it just morphed into a general car show.  It's been a while since I was down there, but there were a couple of Ferraris, a Lambo, the Carrera GT and quite a few classic sports cars there.  And of course all the tuned Bimmers.  ;)

Tristan is off on Sunday.  Yet, somehow, he has to go in for about an hour anyway.  Poo.  Today is (hopefully) finish the rear end of the monster, maybe get the forks on next weekend, then maybe, just maybe, all will be right with the moto world.

Did you ride the SC or the Daytona? I wasn't home all day but the only Duc & heard/saw was a Monster that went by with the 8:30 SB gang. They were going by at about 2/3 normal speed and my neighbor chased them down because they buzzed a group of joggers on the road without slowing down. He caught the stragglers and was "advising" them when he noticed they weren't kids. "Hey, they were a bunch of old guys!"   [laugh]  Guilty in absence.

So are we going to do the Sand Island Coast Guard poker run this weekend or fart around on our own? Or both?

I was on the Daytona, and it was around 1600 or so when I went round.  There were a couple of cyclists on the road, but that is it.  One of the guys almost got kicked though; he heard me coming, looked over his shoulder and saw me, then swerved right in my line as I was coming round to pass him.  Sad too, seeing how I always make it a point not to buzz them too closely...

As far as this coming weekend goes, I'd like to hit the CG thing but want to find out if I can get the SC on base without putting a sticker on it. 

And on a lighter note, I found out today that a coworker of mine just recently got a red 848.  Got to get myself a test ride.   [moto]

Actually, being in gov service does have its perks.  If you feel that you are honestly at your wits end (and yes, you get to be the determining factor of honestly) you can force them to give you recover time.  You aren't in the military and they cannot force you to be there. 

It's 1815 hrs and I'm still at work waiting for a tech to finish a car for a customer who's sitting in the other room. Kind of forced to be here too.  >:(

I got shit on because the last week I was in training for 40 hours (for CAD/CAM software related shit, to boot), my sup kept giving this justification for no progress on a number of jobs on day shift during the week:

sometimes I hate that this job pays too well to quit.

There just has to be a way that you can make this work for you.  i.e. "the pros from Dover" -- Hawkeye Pierce & Trapper John -- when you're good and you're the only good one(s) available you should be able to create some perks.  It's a dicey deal but it works both ways. I've done it.

Yea, like take a long walk.  I.e. they must be willing to make a few concessions to keep you working there if they are the only qualified person on those machines.

project 'milestones' (the hot new mgmtspeak word) matter the most to him/uppers. all they're concerned about is seeing outgoing work.  and I'm not about to compromise work to make a point, because I still care about what it is that I do, in the larger scope of things.

It's a good thing that you have a high work ethic.  That is something that is slipping in a lot of people these days and it sickens me to see that sort of behavior displayed by military folk.  But as much as they value milestones, and work tickets in the outgoing pile, they also should see how drastically little would be put in that outgoing pile if their one person threw up his hands and walked away permanently. 

Maybe you should have a very frank "sit down and come to jesus" chat with your immediates about it.  Who knows what might come out of it.

I was down there yesterday afternoon.  The poor thing sat off in the corner, covered and unloved...   [cheeky]  He said that he wanted to fab up a better tail kit for it and it had only gone from the dealer to the shop...  Time to break that puppy in!!  I'm hoping that Jonesy will be able to bring out his 848 as well.

Townside at 0800 is fine with me if that works for you and everyone else..Blasting with relative ease automatically eliminates Koko Head-Sandy Beach even at that hour.

It is kind of hit and miss.  If we roll out right at 0800 it probably won't be that bad, but we usually end up sitting there and chin wagging for a while and the tourists are out by the time we leave.

If it is a piston it should be a constant noise. Same deal with rod noise. It could very possibly be the alternator nut backing off. Remember we had that problem with Justin's 750 in the early days of this group. Is the engine running smoothly despite the noise?

Seems to be.  I added a little oil, as it was a touch low.  I'll check the alternator.

umm - i know i'm ignorant as all hell, but i don't see anything that looks alternator-y. 

Also, there is definitely oil where there previously wasn't - on top of the case and a little on the lowest rear cyl fins.  poo.

Funny man indeed.  This bike goes down, I go without for who the hell knows how long.

You can't actually see the alternator. It's inside the left side case. There is a round magnetic stator that is set onto the end of the crankshaft and is held in place by a large nut. The wire coil windings are set inside the outer case itself and the magnet spins with the crank and voila, electricity.  That large nut likes to come loose and cause all kinds of problems.

Oil back by the rear cylinder could come from the lower cam belt drive. I had that happen on my bike and had to reseal it. You might be having some sort of excess blow by from the breather valve which is next to the rear cylinder.

Say the word & if you like I can swing by and have a listen sometime. Or take it to Will for a diagnosis. Who knows?

Everything I have seen so far, including the all-knowing magic eight ball, says yes. 

I'll be using the 750 tomorrow. I wouldn't mind taking the Monster out but since it rained most of today the 750 just got put back together, cleaned up and needs a test ride. I'll need to find out how the new setup works in real life not just sitting in one spot. Looks like it'll be around 9 AM again. I'll try to get up and moving early but there is still standard Sunday morning chores to deal with. Hoping for some dry roads. I'll be in touch in the morning.

BTW --- I had a look at the 848 owner's manual. 1st service is at 600 miles. Next service is at 7,500 with valve check/adjustment and I reckon an owner would be smart to change oil somewhere in between. If you see your buddy Rick with the 848 you should check with him on that.

Talked to him about it yesterday.  He said he was going to take it in to Will as soon as he could get a spot on the schedule.

9:30 -- 10:00 thereabouts.  The eastern end of the island is sunny & clear.  We had a 20 minute straight down big drop rain an hour or so ago but things are drying up now.  The trade winds have shut off which has made some picturesque sights of clouds over and below the tops of the Koolaus.  Kaneohe/Kahaluu was solid pitch black when I was leaving Kailua town a while ago. I don't know if that rain will carry over into Pearl City - Mililani as there is practically no wind to push it over there. We'll roll but no hurry eh? I guess try for around 10 at the shop unless you've got a better place to meet picked out. I'll need to put gas in the bike too as I only added a gallon last week up in Haleiwa. (Didn't want to be propping up and r&r'ing a full tank when I did the mods.

as for the ride, i'd say sports park is a better meet-up option, if for no other reason than it's meant to early, and starbucks has a way of trapping.  and getting around the ne corner early is can be awesome.

We usually meet up at the Jamba Juice/Starbucks which are attached to Wahoo Tacos on the corner of Ward Ave. and Auahi St.  1100 used to be the meet time a while back, but we changed that to 0800 in an effort to beat traffic.

Hey! It's not just Mililani! I was running from the rain, or chasing it in some cases, all day today. The only dry spot that I could tell was my "favorite" route around Sandy Beach to get back home. I never got real wet but I'm still a tad damp and the bike is a bit messy. Oh well, tis the time of year. Will tomorrow be better?

Probably not, but we shall see.  Sure would be nice seeing how this will Brutale's first chance to ride with us.

I'll get up way early tomorrow and get chores done. Weather permitting I'll be there between 8 & 8:30.

It looks like about 30% chance of rain in the city tomorrow morning and about 60-70% windwardside.  I guess we will just call it in the morning??

Not bad here on the hill.  Radar shows a nice chunk of rain on the mountains near you, but town-side looks fairly clear.  Although there is a broken squall line about an hour or so out; can't tell if it will stay organized or not though...

Saturday morning isn't impossible, but unlikely.  I should be doing the run thing at 0730, that'll go about 1-1.5 hrs.  Probably precludes me.  But, you never know. 

If i didn't go running for what ever reason, I was going to go to work.   Well, the area.  The AF had a DWI recently and they ALL have to come in at 0700 Saturday in blues for inspection with PT gear at the ready.  We (the coworkers and I) figured we'd hang out, make breakfast burgers, and watch the festivities.  [thumbsup]
