Title: Luggage for 2018 -2020 Monster 821
Post by: morahgreg on January 22, 2021, 09:54:02 AM
Hello.

My wife would like to do some light touring with me on my 2018 Monster 821.  I am having difficulty finding a luggage rack for the rear of the bike that will work.  Seems there was a change to the tail section after 2017.

I am looking for recommendations for side bag systems that will allow for a passenger, and a luggage rack.  I have the comfort saddle that I will send to Sargent to be modified.  If there are alternative suggestions for the seat, I would be grateful to hear those too.

Thanks,
Greg

Have you looked at Ventura yet?  I have used their sport-rack kit on both my M900 and ST4 on cross country trips.
Looks like they don't have much listed for the 821 after 2016.  But they list other Monsters up to 2019.  Suggest maybe giving them a call.

How about a medium sized Kriega backpack for both? She'll have your backpack to lean against and keep enough distance to avoid banging helmets. These backpacks are almost comfortable to wear. Much less hassle than bike bags.

Maybe add a shared tank bag for your small stuff - wallet, keys, water, +++
