Title: Speedo gear drive - M900 and SBK Post by: M900GP on May 08, 2019, 11:53:07 PM I've got a 2000 M900ie and I went from the stock front wheel to a 5-spoke from a 996. The gear in each wheel hub looks similar, so I figured I could use the M900 speedo pickup/drive. But I don't get any action from the speedo gauge or tach with the wheel installed and spinning. Is there a different front axle pickup/drive in the SBKs?

Sounds like the new wheel doesn't have one. I thought that was part of the assembly but I then spoke with someone else who indicated it wasn't, so the wheels went back on the axle without it and obviously aren't equipped to drive the speedo. Now the question is where's the steel ring. Anybody have an extra? ;D
