Title: MotoGp at CoTA
Post by: Mhanis on March 23, 2016, 07:44:50 AM
Who is going?

I am supposed to have tickets at will-call from a vendor of ours through work, but that shit always makes me nervous. I wish I had the tickets in my hand!

The family and I will be staying at the Holiday Inn in Elgin again. We'll go down Friday after work and hit the track first thing on Saturday morning then head back after the race on Sunday.

So who else is in?

Mark

I might run down for the day on Friday if I get passes.  Otherwise, I will skip this year.  Have to be in Vegas Sunday afternoon for work so can't make the actual races.

Are they still selling general admission?  With my travel schedule I can't remember what day(s) I'm on flights lately so it will be a last minute impulse decision

Sure they are.  I don't see how they would sell out of GA tickets for the GP race.  Just go to ticketmaster.com and snag some.

General Admission all the way.  What is that, Turn 11?  It's the hairpin that leads onto the back straight.  Has a nice little hill over looking the track.  Great place to throw a blanket and watch the action  [beer]

Bingo.  There are way too many places to watch the race to pay $150+ for stand tickets IMO.

Man, I ended up with some nice will-cal tickets but I have to be at work bright 'n early Monday a.m.  The traffic back to Dallas after the inaugural event was a TOTAL nightmare.  Not sure it's worth the aggravation this time.  Gonna need to see if Iannone can put some real, sustained pressure on the Yamahas this weekend in Argentina.  I'd love to see the Ducatis live up to their potential in Austin.  Now THAT would be worth the drive home on Sunday night

I'm going to chicken-out and watch the race on line from home this time 'round but… I'll be camping in my recliner.

Hope y'all have fun!  And pics or (you know the rest)  [evil]

Bryan (that made the Hico Run with us) is riding down this morning and will be there all 3 days. I envy him for both riding and getting to spend all 3 days there. What I do not envy him is the ride home on Sunday evening!!

Maybe in years past I could have/would have done that, but certainly not now.

You'll be missed Cher, I'll send you a cell phone pic or two just to tease you a bit.
