Title: Best Route: San Francisco to South Lake? Post by: desmoquattro on July 17, 2010, 06:51:06 PM Sure, I'm a local. I've been to South Lake Tahoe hundreds of times. But it was all driving, and we've got a bachelor party/ride coming up. So I'm looking for advice on awesome roads to ride either on the way, or loops around South Lake. I'm not sure Highway 88 is the ideal ride, but it's always been fun in a truck:

There is a chunk of slab between Davis and Auburn but not too bad considering the rest.
